Unit apparently disbanded.

Post by elmo3 »

Had a unit with 1300 men and a Veteran Sergeant (or whatever he is called) disband for no reason. One turn it was there and the next turn the unit was empty except for the sergeant. Now I have 1300 troops at the SHQ available to disburse to other units when they suffer losses. The counter stayed in the same spot with the sergeant for one turn and then it disappeared. Never saw that happen before.

Sounds like model quality shenanigans. Did you make the model(s) of the troops in the unit obsolete, or change the unit's acceptable quality of troops to not include their model's quality? If you did, all such troops will be cycled back to the SHQ when logistics allow for it and if there's none left, the unit will disband (even if it has unit feats, alas).

I did not make them obsolete as these are the newer model nor did I change the unit quality. I also just noticed that the 1300 troops in the SHQ are not being sent out to replace casualties. I have 1300/700 infantry but none of the 1300 are getting used to replace the 700. Seems like a bug to me.

Edit - And the next turn they all got allocated somewhere. So I have no idea what's going on with that.

I'd definitely double-check the model to make sure it didn't get changed accidentally, and/or check the quality requirements of the units that they're not reinforcing. Them being auto-recalled and then not replacing losses in other units really sounds like the model is not the right quality level for the units involved.
