probably the worst time to ask, but how is the new game(fantasy wargame) coming along? any update in the future?

my life isn't really conducive to gaming these days, but it's nice to have something to look forward to.

Also interested about some update on the Fantasy game. Could be a nice one I think.

Concerning the patch just a small thing I just saw 1945 Naval air tech does nothing compared to 1944, I guess something should change? Maybe easy to do . Naval air +1 I assume.

I would definitely like to see what a prepared defense around Leningrad can do.

Yes, it was also reported in WPP. I think it was fix failed. I will have to comply a list of fixes for WPP.

I still haven't discovered why this is happening.

The fantasy game is running. You can build, do diplomacy, move units, engage in combat. Much of the story writing is complete.

Some key naval things...
I added intercept along the way and a simple set of rules I stole from Empire in Arms.
If you move and are intercepted someone has to win the naval battle.
If you win you can keep moving and the intercepting force retreats and is set to evade (cant intercept anymore).
If the interception force wins you retreat and are set to evade losing all your movement.

Still need A.I. and more on the editor. One thing I discovered about writing this kind of dynamic game is why so many devs make it areas or the map small. A larger map makes it very difficult to code A.I.

The fantasy game is a wargame not a 4x. Too many good 4x games out there with more resources and prettier graphics for me to compete with. But it will have something none of them have. That is all i will say.

For WW2 it's easier because there is a set patch with defined opponents.

thx for the update!

yeah AI seems very hard.

it honestly hasn't progressed all that far, AFAIK tell, in the last 30 years.

i'd guess many programmers would disagree. but as a gamer, its progress is disappointing.

on the plus side, it encourages MP gaming, which can be fantastic.

Please fix hex conversion issue see my post. I still think the French and Italians could be a little weaker maybe less experience, seems Italy should be more then 5% worse then UK! and I know I'm a broken record on this but Italian Mtn units are much too good

I am doing the fantasy game because fantasy sells well and it can appeal to wargamers and RPG players.

Also want to balance and bug out WP1 engine for WP2.

I want different games in different genres to appeal to a lot of different players.

Wait, this is big. Are you saying ships or subs can intercept a enemy fleet on their path to a specific location?

Does it work for planes as well? For example, subs en route to a specific location could be intercepted on their way if they are in the range of enemy planes?

UK bombers sunk a lot of subs in the bay of Biscay. Bombers Mosquito with radar and big light equipment.

I precise 62 subs sunk between 1942 and 1944. Depending on the scale of Warplan 2, this is perhaps nothing.
