Taking & losing objectives several times

Post by Pocus »

I guess each event triggers once when an objective is taken, then liberated. Then retaken, then possibly re-liberated? One conquest, one liberate event, and that's it. No horrible FS endless sink from disputing an objective? Please tell me it is so :D

One conquest, one liberation, that's it. (Other than Washington and Richmond which have per-turn checks)

Perfect! Dodge division making a one-way ticket to get back Cairo by amphibious assault behind the line of a combined Franco-Spanish offensive. May these men be remembered by the Union. That is if there is a surviving Union in a few years :D

I have to know how you got both France and Spain in the war in the same game - that sounds crazy!

It's my currently unpublished mod, waiting for 1.03 release. It features a Blue campaign vs Confederate AI where the British DOW quasi immediately (61), France and Spain some months later (still 61).
Initial and reinforcement OOB have been modified for the European powers though, converting each corps to 2 divisions (give or take), as my previous test saw that it was nigh impossible to resist fully upgraded corps :D
Now it gets better, even if a European division in good shape (and full upgrade) still make very large holes when attacking Union un-upgraded brigades.
I'm still unsure in my current playthrough if I'll manage to hold, even if there are definitely some rubber-banding mechanisms in place in the game that might help me resist then prevail in the end, we will see (central location, good railway network, one single cohesive budget, partisans ...).
It won't be a mod for everyone. In addition to being on the defensive, the Union can't spare the budget for the navy and the sea is completely forbidden area. I might improve on that with decisions where you would pay at half cost ships, to incentivize building some... But the budget is super tight and one large error and you are doomed.
