Now that I'm older, here's what I've discovered:
1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
2. My wild oats are mostly enjoyed with prunes and all-bran.
4. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.
5. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.
6. If all is not lost, then where the heck is it?
7. It was a whole lot easier to get older than it was to get wiser.
8. Some days, you're the top dog, some days you're the hydrant.
9. I wish the buck really did stop here, I sure could use a few of them.
10. Kids in the back seat cause accidents.

14. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he'd have put them on my knees.
15. When I'm finally holding all the right cards, everyone wants to play chess.
16. It's not hard to meet expenses . . . They're everywhere.
17. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.
18. These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter .. . . I go somewhere to get something, and then wonder what I'm "here after".

Does anyone know how long and how much material that it will take to fill this ditch and redirect the water into the old path?

I do not understand. Doesn't the Colorado river still pass through the Canyon? So what ditch? And what old path?

There is speculation that the Colorado river itself used to flow into the Gulf of Mexico through what is called the Little Colorado River. Or that the River used to flow west to the Pacific. There is evidence that the upper and lower parts of the Colorado river were actually different rivers that joined. But the Grand Canyon is a big erosion scar on the Colorado Plateau so in order to restore the land, it should be filled in. Maybe the river could be returned to its historic river bed(s) as well. But I read that if the Grand Canyon was full of water, it could cover Europe with one foot of water. One foot is 30.48 centimeters. So that would be a lot of loads of whatever would be used to fill that highly visible eroded area.

Grump.

The background for my question of what old path was referring to the fact that most, or maybe all, rivers has changed their path multiple times. So I find it hard to think of it as one former path of the river to think of as 'The Old Path'.

Nevermind. It is of no importance.

Thank you for telling me about the history behind the canyon, and river.
