CV Formidable was sunk outright. CVs Indomidable, Yorktown and Lexington are all heavily damaged
I have no idea if I can get them out or not, we will see.

Very disappointed in the performance of my aircrews. All of the TBs strayed, some of the DB strayed and some of the fighters strayed.
At least some of my air groups were able to divert to Long Island.

I have only watched the replay and briefly looked over the turn file. I will wait a bit to let my temper cool off and then see what can be salvaged

Given how things went for this turn, I fear that the game is probably lost. I will continue to fight, but given the results here I can not see me winning.

Let's not get hasty here. That CV battle wasn't great, but you only lost an RN carrier. I'd say the battle was a setback but don't forget all the hardware you have coming in. Also, don't forget you have New Britain, including Rabaul, already in January 1943. You're way ahead of history.

+1. I count losses of 38 Zeros, 48 Kates and 41 Vals. Add to that the ops losses that always occur as the damaged planes fly home. That could be a third of his KB aircraft?

When you get F6Fs you should have a better defence.

I finished landing the remaining supplies at Kavieng and my Amphibious TF is loading the second 1/3 division at Rabaul and will
carry it to Kavieng. No attacks by the Japanese at Kavieng. I did do a CL/DD bombardment of Kavieng. That should help keep
the disruption up.

Xargun send a naval bombardment mission to Long Island, I expect he thought there would be a lot of aircraft that diverted there.
There was last turn but I moved all I could. He did encounter my monthly supply convoy and sank it

Not much. I landed the second part of a Division at Kavieng and I will attack and see what there is there.

I have the 8th Australian Division that will start unloading at Port Moresby today. It will take a few days, it is
loaded on xAP and xAKL ships.

We have encountered a glitch in the data base. We are unsure what is happening, I had AndyMac look at it
and he does not know why things are not working right. I just received a CV that came with air groups but no aircraft.
I can not move the air groups to a base and I have looked and tried a number of things. We are going to continue a few
turns and see if it will work itself out.

Nothing much happened, bombing of Japanese troops is about all.

The next couple of months are going to be boring. I have a number of CVs in drydock and will
take a while to finish repairs. I am reequipping air groups and training air crews. There just
will not be much happening, so I might go to a weekly or so report.

As things usually go, when I think there will be little to no action something does happen.

I sent a small SCTF to Hollandia and instead of engaging some PBs or xAKs as I thought, I found
a SCTF. CL Phoenix took 2 20cm shell hits that penetrated her belt armor, but she did not sustain
any major damage, she has 11 sys, 7 minor float and 2 minor engine damage. CL Phoenix gained
3 night experience and DD Chevalier gained 2 night experience. For some reason DD O'Bannon did
not gain any experience. CA Atago took a 6" shell at 2000 yards that penetrated her belt armor. She was
smoking a lot when the engagement ended. For the Allies this was a win combat, even though no ships
were sunk, none were lost and experience was gained.

Bombings of Japanese troops in the jungles of New Guinea and New Britain.
These are mostly to increase the experience and skills of the bomb groups.
But they will wear down the troops in the jungle since they have no valid supply
path.
