QoL: 1k,1M,1B -> Naming convention for Large Numbers

Post by rxnnxs »

Please do not stop at M, use B for Billion if it comes to all large Numbers.
It is easier to overlook. While the font is flattering regarding numbers, it would then the best and easiest way to NOT write 1200M but 1B.

When comparing sizes of the colonized planets and looking at max pop,
it is not easy to see that max pop is 12662M and actual pop is 5572M, so there is enough place for more people and so on.
But those numbers are not easy to grasp, one has 4, the other 5 places. My eyes can not count this when going over those numbers on a fly. But M and B are seen much faster.
So max pop 12.6B and actual Pop 5.5B would be better.
And while we are at it, you could not round up to 5M but 5.2M. Also good fo K Values.
Regarding Objects in Space.

Also with the cash flow it would be better.

Cheers and happy gaming!

Yes... I would agree... I find this a bit irritating as well as it is very difficult when there are more than four digits... either that or add proper coma separations for all numbers. I don't understand why there are coma separation in most places but not in some, such as population count on planets.

thanks for the replies.
I said it at many places, so here again, traing to get it clear:

beside that understandable wish to change it to k,M,B,T.. kilo, Mega, Billion, Trillion..

- select a better font or let us change the font, so the numbers have the same width (8.888 is as broad as 1.1111)
and sort it that the dots or commatas are under each other
1,1111
0,0000

Now here it works as it should - but the game font is flattering/has not the same width for each number.

I wrote it down here

and post the pic here again:

I cannot agree more!

Take Warscore which doesn't progress beyond K, thousands. Yet the displayed values can reach billions.
I mean, really...

I would also advocate for spaces between numbers and symbols. Like:

1 256 M

or

1.2 B
