DD ASW Patrols

Post by Seasick »

I read that with human controlled sub patrols the task force will return to port to replenish or repair. If I create a destroyer ASW patrol, and set it for human control, will it also return automatically to refuel and replenish?

Yes. Any patrol set for human control will return to port to replenish or disband if repairs are needed....GP

If you set one of the ASW TF patrol way points in a well stocked port with the option to refuel it can go indefinitely. Although wear and tear will set in at some point.

One way to do the ASW patrols would be to have a spare vessel in the home port to take the place of a damaged vessel which would then enable the ASW TF to keep going. You would have to send the damaged vessel to the home port or another port to be repaired and then have the replacement vessel join the ASW TF.

Also, have it set up to have the ASW patrol set to "Full Refuel" at the home port and make sure that there is a support vessel able to rearm the TF if the port is too small as well as having a supply of fuel at the port.
