We Northerners are always aware that winter is coming. You southerners do not truly understand the meaning of real winter. No understanding of a cold so cold that even the blood in the veins freeze, so much snow that the highway is closed for months on end since it is snowing faster than you can remove the snow. It is so cold that even the sun is afraid to show itself. So darkness reins, making it even colder. You youngsters, southerners, summerchilds, should be grateful for what you have and call winter, is what we call summer.

I have been outside when it was -30 F or about -35 C so I do know what cold is like. One place where I used to live, the official weather station about 10 miles away only had -56 F. There was no windchill since there was no wind. But we usually don't get that much snow but sometimes there are advisories to keep water running so the pipes don't freeze - about the width of a pencil should be enough. I had also seen snow there on the 3rd of July, I have also seen snow in September there as well. No, not in the mountains either. One time, starting on the 31st of October, we received 30 inches of snow which is over 75 cm.

Of course you have. You've been, and are, a Ranger. I should think that all Rangers have experienced cold. True cold. And likely wet cold as well. If a Ranger could not handle cold, then I assume that they would not be a Ranger. Anyway...
