A World Ablaze (3-player game)

Post by Orm »

Beginning a new 3-player Global War email game.

Players are:
Axis - NatRapsEno
USSR + Com China + Nat China - peskpesk
CW + USA + France - Orm

A fourth player, GeneralAdvance, might enter on the Allied side at some point.

Edit: GeneralAdvance plays France. The command of French naval forces are split between GeneralAdvance and Orm.

The following options, and house rules, are in play.

+ Only strategic bombing missions are allowed at night.
+ No CAP allowed.
+ SUBs always excluded in port strikes versus major ports.
+ Partisans must be placed actively, if possible, and then used actively. No 'hiding' partisans in remote areas just to increase partisan value.
+ No air reaction for naval searches from the mainland to the North Atlantic. Reacting from the Azores is ok. And flying actively during own impulse is also ok.
+ Chinese aircraft may not react to any sea area. They may actively fly to the sea area.
+ One VP lost for CW if there is any controlled country by Italy in Sub-Saharan Africa at the beginning of 1942. One more lost at he beginning of 1944, And one more at the end of the game. Up to a total of 3 VPs may be lost for CW that way.
+ France lose one VP if Madagascar is Axis controlled at the end of the game.

The US setup is pretty standard. Nothing worth mentioning really. Except, perhaps, that US placed all three markers vs Germany.

The French Army are divided into three forces. In the Alps, along the Maginot line, or along the Belgian border.

Looking forward to seeing this one play out. Thanks guys!

A couple of questions if I may on your house rules.

Is this to speed up play or some other reason? If so, I'd be interested in your rationalize for this house rule if you don't mind.

No paradrops or air transports at night either?

Just to speed up play.

Indeed. No paradrops, or air transports, at night. And this is mainly for historical reasons (however, it blends into game technical elements). I can discuss it further, if you so like, in your thread.

No need and thanks! Good luck to you all!

By the way and maybe I just missed him. Where was the Zhukov HQ-A deployed?

No, you didn't miss him. He is overseeing the Soviet main tank unit practicing their camouflage technique. Apparently, there is a need to improve.

Very interesting French CP deployment. I've never seen anything like it. 3 French CPs in the South China Sea and 2 in the Bay of Bengal.

I was looking at the same thing. I expect some resource lending to happen, interesting.
