Missing Japanese Production Points

Post by stjeand »

This is odd.
I open my turn and look to build something and...all my production points are gone.
Any ideas?
There was no strategic bombing...the only thing that occurred last turn is the DEI surrendered.

Screen shot of the convoy map?

Screen shot of the convoys?

You have enough MMs.

Well being that it is turn 5 my MM situation is good.
Checked convoy screen...thought for a moment maybe a convoy got turned off...
But that was not it.

Looks like the PP convoys never sailed based on the missing PP.

Is this a PC or PBEM game? Something is off.

South China Sea convoy covers NEI to Formosa
East China Sea Formosa to Manchuria.

If you could send me the game or post a screen shot with control ON for both areas I can see what is going on.

It could be partisans preventing PPs from leaving damaging rail.

Sadly I gave up and moved on...

The next turn PP production was normal.

I checked all the convoy lines and they said they had convoys on them.
I had rail lines in China to the coast and none of the PP locations were covered by partisans.

I will have to keep watching it.

Again based on the PP...only Japan produced.

BUT the Japanese received all the oil as you can see and it even says I receive 212 PP but it was not in the stockpile.

Very odd.

You might have had rail damage you didn't recognize.

Well since I got no PP from the Philippines or Malaysia or DEI...that was what seemed weird.
I did get oil...which made it odder.

Also I am 100% sure that I had rail to the coast...if not I would have had most of my units out of supply or in Basic supply.

I check every turn to be sure I have a link to the coast and have a line of units covering the rail. It is a pain but the only way to be sure.

This behaviour was already reported in 1.6.2 by eskuche:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 3&t=381589

But, I did not find a way to reproduce it. This is interesting. Do you try shutting down all the unused convoy lanes?

Just happened again...

DEI surrendered last turn...

Approximately 100PP gone. This is very odd.

Turn is Feb 1. I am going to see if I can reproduce this by making them surrender on that turn exactly.
Very odd.

I am able to reproduce this at will...

When the DEI surrender the Japanese lose 100PP...I have done this 3 times now in a row in testing.

All you have to do is land troops in the DEI...empty out the cities and move into the capitol. Keep track of your PP and you will be 100 less on the turn after they surrender.

Congratulations finding the root cause of this bug. Hopefully, it will be solved in the incoming patch.

Running through it. 1941 small fleet

turn 1
prod - 192
upkeep - 0
stock - 192

turn 2
prod - 192
upkeep - 42
stock - 342

turn 3
prod - 192
upkeep - 44
stock - 392 (missing ~100)

turn 4
prod - 192
upkeep - 42
stock - 547

Yea something is off and I can't explain it. Ok more digging.

Figured it out. The clue to NEI surrendering was the key

Oh no, one more Japanese army in India. I guess I won't survive.

Congratulations to both of you.
