Germans Win by turn 12!!!!! Who is doing it.

Post by DeletedUser1769703214 »

What German player or players are trying to win by turn 12? Of course you have to be playing the Sudden Death Victory condition for this to take place on the first VP check in the first place. Which in my opinion is a total pipe dream against equal opponents. I have said so on numerous occasions in my AARs. Thus, I don't play Sudden Death so this rules me out and only play No Early End since it was released. So I would love to know the German player or players trying to win by Turn 12?(First VP check)(and win) I see one listed in the AAR's but I believe that is a No Early End game too but could be wrong and congrats to him/her. Whoever this player or players are trying to win the game by turn 12 I would love pointers how they are doing this against equal opponents and winning. Thank you in advance for your answers.

I too only seeing stretching the Germans bad to win early will only end in tragedy.

I tied this to a Poll for more interesting community input. Thank you for looking.

See my modified campaign in the opponents wanted. I lowered the ‘41 auto victory VP to 625, bc 700 is impossible in a match anywhere even in skill.

Thank you Jubjub :) I agree with you. It is amazing that anyone would even try for a 700 VP lunge in 41. I really wish I knew who was doing it successfully against equal skilled opponents. Please don't forget to vote in the poll!

Limiting VP points is necessary so that the strong do not beat the weak, games should be filled with events and struggle. If the German player cannot push through the Soviet one, then what is the point of the Soviet player playing? He quickly won a new one, if the Soviet lost 700 points so quickly that he lost, what's the point of playing for the German? Beat the weak?

its been a while since anybody wrote that Axis players rush for a fast victory and then if they do not achieve it - they give up
so far i have not seen any examples of it

also previously it was turn 16, that was mentioned in such messages

or turn 12 is a new meta now, so hypothetical Axis player can save 4 turns before starting new game?

Turn 12 was mentioned in another post. I just ran with it to see who was doing that. You will notice I put in ( ) the following (First VP check) for the real VP check.

As per my response in your other thread, I agree that Axis victories in 1941 will be very rare. But what I find more difficult to understand is why that leads you to play No Early End? As that campaign not only removes the 1941 victory checks but also all the 1942 and 1943 victory checks? I can sympathise with what Beethoven has said elsewhere about preferring NEE as it avoids 'arbitrary' ends to campaigns where the players might still be enjoying themselves and wish to continue. But I am finding it a bit difficult to follow your logic? Do you feel the later victory checks are unachievable also?

I will set my own VP total and defend that VP total till 44 to win, my way. I don't want to replicate the Historical VP given in a "Sudden Death" GC match dictating my moves based off history. Gives a total different flavor to the game which in my eyes is very attractive.
