Operation Nordwind

Post by Willard »

Your welcome Jason. It's because the Matrix forums have been down that I've
had the time to respond here. I try an allocate an hour or so each day to
review and respond to forums. Since the release of HTTR our forum there has
really increased in traffic and so I've had less time to check out this ng.
But it's an ill-wind they say that doesn't benefit someone.

As to the eastern front, well we will be releasing our Crete expansion pack
for HTTR in a few months. Our next full game will be Battles from the Bulge.
This will see the new Resupply system which I have just started designing,
plus an Order of Battle window and Force List editor. We hope to release an
expansion pack for this as well on Op Nordwind (TBC). Then our next full
game will be on Normandy. This will feature Team Play. We also hope to
release an expansion pack for this game too, but we have yet to decide on
what battle. After that we turn East.

Well that is the plan, our intention, at this stage. Note that Crete and
Bulge are the only ones we've formally announced. Just for the record, we
are not "promissing" to release any of the above new titles. We reserve the
right to change this plan, substitute different battles or go out of
business alltogether as circumstances dictate. ;)

Just wanted to post the above information that I found from Arjuna regarding future updates---
War-historical news group

Anyway, I saw that interesting tidbit regarding Operation Nordwind---unfortunately I have to confess that I didnt know a thing about it, so I started doing some searches. Looked very interesting and I found some cool maps of the battle. For all those interested, please see these detailed maps---Operation Nordwind battle maps

***Arjuna--- hope that link helps!!!

Hehe, I wondered how long it would take someone in this forum to see that little bit of info. [;)]

Ahaa, Seven days in January...It's a good book, worth reading.
It describes the actions in and around Wingen-sur-Moder with daily battle analysis by the author.
But it'st also a section descrebing the first three years of SS-Nord; operation SILBERFUCHS and operation BIRKE for example.
All in all a very detailed acount at the tactical level.
