1071 Why cant you build stations where you want them?

Post by boolybooly »

In v1071, trying to build a research station next to a mining station for mutual defence appears impossible due to some kind of embuggerance code whereby if you order a station to be built in one place it is built a random third of a planet circumference to one side or the other. :(

Why is that, is that a deliberate attempt to annoy players or just "emergent" from some kind of crazy scheme to make planets look pretty?

Please can we have stations where we want them. OK not all bunched together but within firing ranges.

Maybe they could be separated by orbital distance from planet or just have one station width between the second placement and any previous station, is there a problem with that? The positioning needs to be relative to the existing station if within its region and the first station needs to be anywhere you like around a planet.
