Hey guys,

A small mod I share for those interested. The objective was to make generation results more interesting by either adding more variations possibilities (for the Unclassified Type) and by focusing on specific results targets. So the results should be less "bland" compared to original parameters. Or at least you won't need to spend hours re-rolling to get an interesting result. At least it was my objective and I find it works for my personal use

If you have some ideas / looking for specials planets types, don't hesitate to discuss here I may add them in future version.

Mod Purpose: This small mod aims to extend planets generation options for Shadow Empire game.

Number of new or modified planets class: 6
- New "TRAPPIST Class" planet
- New "SNOW World Class" planet
- Modified "Unclassified class" (extended generation ranges)
- Modified "Seth class" (extended generation ranges)
- Modified "Boreas class" (extended generation ranges)
- Modified "Cerberus class" (extended generation ranges)

- New Planet Class: "Snow World"
* A planet with guaranteed large or complete snow and ice couverture (compared to modded Boreas, where snowfall is usually more scarce)

- Planet class "Unclassified": Tweaked minor values
- Planet class "Trappist" : Tweaked minor values + adjusted temperature range (now average -10 + 20°C)
- Planet class "Seth":
* Extended the variations possible, but the main feature remain : "No Surface Water (mean no Ocean and no Lakes)"
- Planet class "Boreas":
* Extended the variations possible, but the main feature remain : "Cold and Water Frozen Worlds"
- Planet class "Cerberus":
* Extended the variations possible, but the main feature remain : "Hot and Lava Worlds"
- Deactivated all unmoded planets when the mod is active

- Fixed issue with Open Beta version (was not working):
* Created a special file for the Open Beta version of the game : Pym_PlanetGen_openbeta.se1evlib

- Modified UNCLASSIFIED Class: (extended limits to max values used for others planets class)
* Description: (Moded - Extended ranges, except for temperature -40 to +40C range for more interesting variations) - When you play on a unclassified Planet expect anything. It could be a Planet similar to one of the classes listed above, but it could also be something else altogether.

- New Class: TRAPPIST Class (Modified from disabled "Small Earth Class")
* Description: Planets with Earth like temperatures ranges (average 10-20C), but very limited water surface probability (for water gameplay purpose). Good chance Planet has alien life.

**Installation:

-Unzip the Archive in your Shadow Empire\shadowscenarios\ directory
* It should like something like this: C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire\shadowscenarios\
* Or like this if you use Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Empire\shadowscenarios\
** An easy way to find where your game folder is: launch steam, right click on "Shadow Empire" in your game library > Choose "Properties" > "Local Folder" > "Explore"
*** This will directly open the game directory

-Active the mod ingame : On the main menu, click on "Modlib Picker" and select the mod you want to activate
* Important: There is two files: one for the current official version (Pym_PlanetGen.se1evlib) and one for the current Open Beta version of the game (Pym_PlanetGen_openbeta.se1evlib). Just activate 1 version, of your game

**Uninstallation:
- Desactivate the mod in the "Modlib Picker" menu
- Or/and delete the Pym_PlanetGen.se1evlib file in your Shadow Empire\shadowscenarios\ folder

Pymous, this looks VERY interesting and I'm excited to see the various new worlds.
So... I downloaded it and tried it immediately -> but...

got this runtime exception:

And, the path is says it can't find part of, is definitely there and intact.

With the pymous mod installed and enabled, I can load old saved games, but if I try to generate a new world it crashes before I get to the very first world generation screen. I'm using v1.11.09.

Just thinking more on this: Did you forget to put new planet images into the planet folder on your mod release?

Thanks for the feedback,
I managed to reproduce the bug when I tried to install it on my Steam + beta version
On Matrix version (no beta version), it works

I need now to investigate why this bugs : is it Steam or the Beta patch?
I will compare both TABLES from these 2 versions

Ok I found the issue, I made a special version for the OPEN BETA version! It should work now for OPEN BETA users! :)

Why tweak the sizes? The current maximum size appears to be smaller than vanilla: max width is 187 vs ~217.
