Good custom maps?

Good custom maps?

Post by Mave »

Where could I find good maps to play against my friends? Not scenarios, just maps.

Various SPWaW support sites have maps for downloading, but you can also use a map from any scenario in the game by opening the scenario in the editor, delete all units except the Player One A0, then open the map editor and remove any terrain features or emplacements you don't want, move the retreat & reinforcement flags if necessary, and save the map to some empty map slot with a new name. When you finally exit the main editor, DO NOT click yes to save or you will lose the original scenario.

Here's one I just finished updating: its my 'Hilltop City' PBEM map that was included in H2H-fr.

After using it for a few PBEMs I changed some things to make it more balanced for both players.

SImply look into the Maps section of SPWAW. There are dozens of maps, both generic and historical, Europe, East Front, Asia, Pacific, including Betio, Iwo Jima (the Whole Island in both cases) and much more. You'll find winter, summer, just about anything you need.

Its a good selection of maps to choose from.
