Distance units

Post by zebanovich »

Various technologies, automation policies and components mention distance.

How do we measure distance ie. between spaceports and solar systems?
How much is ie. 1000 or 500 distance units?

Currently, the best way to get a sense of distance is to look at the jump range of a ship on the galaxy map. A measuring tool is in the works.

thanks that's a good idea!

I'm now thinking to build several ships each of specific range only to use them to measure the galaxy :)
It's good to hear a measuring toll will be there, how do you know?

Back before release, a common figure was that "a solar system is 2 Million Units across".
I think that is still a apt figure.
