Re: Yet another grand campaign - GC 1941
Turn 16
This is where the victory check thing happens so I think I got enough points to continue the game if I was reading it right. Taking the Leningrad area was easier than I thought and since the AI is bad Osniovets was easily taken since there was only 1 unit there. Leningrad should be isolated now unless there is a special rule somewhere. I should easily take it in a month probably.
Just me organizing the frontline and commands. Only thing that happened other than that was near Kursk but it should be taken soon. A lot of hexes in front of 17th and 6th Army was taken since the AI formed a new frontline. I attacked Oddesa this turn again just to see if anything changed but once again Soviets won 2 - 1. Progress around the Rostov area is slow because my divisions are about as powerful as a Soviet rifle division. Also I realized that the black sea ports weren't getting supply because I messed up on supply priority by setting Romanian ports on 0.

Manpower and OOB
Also since not a lot is happening other than building a defence I will skip a few turns(usually like 2) now whenever I post so I don't just say the same thing every turn.

Turn 17
Leningrad and North Leningrad fell pretty easily I expected it to be harder since my experiences with trying to take Oddesa. I guess it was just that I outnumbered the enemy 2 - 1. Didn't attach any support units either. After I take Oranienbaum I will send 4th Panzer somewhere else that I haven't decided yet.

Turn 18
Only posted images of the areas that combat is happening and there is rain I don't think Rostov will be taken this year. Kursk is encircled now so hopefully next turn it will fall. Oranienbaum also fell, it felt like it was harder than taking Leningrad for some reason. I actually had to organize the support units for this battle and not be very lazy. And in the Crimea our troops have broken through and I'm expecting a massive soviet fort at Sevastopol, meanwhile I still can't take Oddesa because I'm bad at the game.

Turn 19
Soviet AI is doing something now since I have no forts thanks to supply and my units are trash since not enough refit. I give up at taking Rostov because bad supply + understrength units + mud + winter is a big problem. I need supply to makes forts so I don't think I will do that well in the next few turns.

Turn 21
It's turn 21 now and my defences are looking to be horrible. Most units in the areas that matter get like 10 - 50% of the ammo so now they are 50% less effective plus the soviets have like infinite supply and a bunch of special rules. Here are some screenshots of the areas that I'm worried about(except army group north).
I don't think I can do anything about the supply so I'm prepared to die in the next turns since the mud is gone.

Re: Yet another grand campaign - GC 1941
Turn 25
Skipped like 4 turns but now the ai is starting to attack my frontline. Had plenty of time to build forts, except for the southern half as the supply just gets worse the more south you go since I am bad at supply management. Nothing much changed except for the shuffling of units and also 4th Panzer is now in the army group center so it can act like a reserve(not the unit mode) just in case.
The north is doing well because Leningrad gives a ton of supply, I think I'm suppose to get finnish divisions as reinforcements but I guess that will wait. In the south I should've made a fort line on the donets instead of doing what I did so now my troops are going to die.

Turn 26
More soviet attacks are coming in, the more south you go the more worse the situation gets. Not inflicting that much casualties though so my troops and forts are slowly getting destroyed. Sometimes some tanks or whatever I have in the reserve can counterattack and succeed, I think I'm overestimating the Soviets. 4th Panzer group should probably help out near orel instead of the moscow area. Going to retreat west of the Donets however I don't want to abandon all of the land though. The panzers and motorized of 1st Panzer are going to be there in weak spots in the line since the supply is reducing my cv by half, Romanians are meat shields near the Rostov area since what else am I going to use them for.

Turn 27
Fortline is starting to disintegrate in some places so I don't know what to really do since without forts my units will die so I do mini counterattacks where I get whatever I could get to slightly push them back. Also in the theater box I now need to send a lot of more units to other fronts since the US is now in the war but I'm lazy and don't want to thin my line so I will accept the loss of a few vps.
Good except Kalinin where I don't have much units to help since the units behind the line are sent to the orel front. I like how to can walk over into the caucasus in this game but I am probably going to get pushed back.
Ton of attacks around Tula, 4th Panzer army is sent to reinforce but no forts so I don't know how is this going to go.
Romanians doing alright at holding the line.

Re: Yet another grand campaign - GC 1941
Turn 29
The frontline in the north is collapsing, all I have is one division that spawned in last turn so hopefully Leningrad is protected. Small soviet breakthrough near Moscow, hopefully that doesn't escalate(it will).
2nd Army and 2nd Panzer group is collapsing, can't get any divisions off the front to refit or else I don't have enough troops to hold. Hopefully the soviets run out of men but probably not since they have a lot of supplies.
Holding okay since the front is close to a big depot so I can refit without much hassle.

Turn 30
Makeshift defence at Leningrad succeeded in holding for a bit so I launched a counterattack with some new divisions I got from Berlin. Also, I got the event where the fins are suppose to reinforce but I can't find their units at all so I'm guessing there is a delay.
2nd Army is pretty much destroyed and for some reason refitting just refuses to work at full capacity. 2nd Panzer group's frontline is now somewhat stable but you never know.
Not that much attacks surprisingly so gives me time to reinforce with fresh units. Took that one city that the soviets left open with a slovak unit but why not there's probably a depot there.

Look at the reinforcement schedule. They should be listed there.originalperson0 wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 8:20 pm Turn 30

Turn 31
Leningrad should be defendable now since I sent the units coming in mostly to there. Might have to retreat since I don't have forts and the Volkhov river has been crossed. I'm building up the regiments to divisions so hopefully that defends for a bit.
9th Army's sector is not doing so well, might have to abandon Kalinin but I already got the bonus points from it. It's very convenient to have a lot of depots nearby so that's why I'm not doing so badly compared to other parts of the front.
Slowly retreating to Orel, for some reason only 1 unit refits at a time the depots nearby when further north that's not that case. 2nd Army launched a minor counterattack to straighten out the line since I'm pretty sure there was a cav division there.
Not a lot of action but my units near Rostov has been pushed back a bit so now I have to put my actual units(not a lot of) instead of Romanians.

Re: Yet another grand campaign - GC 1941
My two cents
Give up Kalnin and straighten your line it might give you some spare DIV's, fall back and make your stand at Rzhev.
In the South fall back to the Mius river, again straighter the line here, withdraw 1st Pz Armee back to defend in front of Stalino.
Fall back to the forests at Kaluga good defence able area, your troops are out in the open at Tula.

Turn 32
Finnish troops are going to arrive next turn and plus I sent 2 more fresh units over so that should stabilize the situation, however I have like 2 regiments holding Leningrad and I think that's not that good at holding.
Massive Soviet breakthrough east of Rzhev, I decided to withdraw from Kalinin to shorten the line and get some more divisions. The terrain is not that good in the area except for the swamps and heavy woods the soviets captured.
Kursk was cut off the rail line and now the line is collapsing to the east of it. Soviets now 2 hexes away from Orel and 2nd Army is pretty much less than half strength at this point. 2nd Panzer will withdraw from the area surrounding Tula so I can free up some divisions.
Slowing having 1st Panzer group and the Romanians retreat, soviets don't really care about this area as much so don't have to worry much.

Turn 33
No lost battle in this screenshot so I'm guessing that their supply has gone low. I got the 3 finnish units now so I will send one to each army group. The north is now stable hopefully I don't need to send more troops here.
Continuing to retreat but I really want to keep orel though. Down near kursk soviets fought through and send a cav unit and I have no units to send into the gap so I guess I'll die and abandon Kursk.
Soviets made a small encirclement but there was no unit there for some reason so I just escaped. Also refitting a ton of units right now but only like 2 of them will actually receive reinforcements because of some game rule somewhere.

Turn 34
3rd Panzer armies units in front of moscow have 60% strength so they are slowly getting worse so in a few turns I predict that the front will collapse like all the other ones.
Retreated from Kursk and only 1 slow strength unit is holding Orel right now and the soviets encircled some units and broke through. Rail line to orel doesn't work anymore so now units have like 30% ammo.
Not a lot but Romanians are holding pretty well just got to wait until they drop to 50 toe after 2 battles and the front collapses.

OOB?
Losses?
Manpower reserves?
Current VP count?
Do you have any plan to re-equip your panzer divisions prior to summer?
