Fighters not intercepting Strategic Bombers

Post by HarrySmith »

Hi guys,
I am sure this has always been the case but I don't see why fighters don't intercept strategic bombers if they are flying over the fighters range to bomb targets past the fighters intercept range. For example bombers flying out of UK and striking deep into Germany when the fighters cover all the area across France and the low lands? Reality is they would of been picked up on radar and intercepted before attacking targets or as a minimum on the way back out. As it is they will only be attacked if the target is in the fighters intercept range. I think flying through and returning back they should be intercepted if the fighter has not used up its 2 intercepts.

Yeah I can see the point, and I guess the only thing I could say is that there then could potentially the argument that bombers may fly a route that possibly goes outside of the range of the potential interceptor (if possible) and that then players may want to be able to control that route as well to limit interception.

While it is not perfect, the current setup is simple enough in the sense that fighters just need to be in range of the target etc.
