I'm currently playing FC:RS and enjoying the 'Wolves' campaign playing as the German stay behind forces.
One approach I took was to blow several bridges in order to delay the Soviet forces.
I did notice that when playing the next mission in the campaign the blown bridges were repaired - so I had to destroy them again.
Will FC:SS carry over, from one campaign mission to the next, this type of damage?

Tom,

It should not be an issue in Southern Storm as each scenario in a campaign is on a new map, I believe. I will pass along this idea to the team for a future lookover. It would take some doing to pass that info forward if the same map was used again in a campaign.

Not to labour the point but shaping the battlespace is important (and fun) but if each scenario is a new map then that prevents any issues.
Will any new Dev diaries or updates/screenshots be released prior to launch? - and will the wonderful music be carried over? The haunting music gets me every time I launch FC:RS..

There should be some Dev stuff and new screens in a couple of weeks. We currently have the same music we had in Red Storm, but we may add or change it as we finish up toward release if we have the time to fiddle with it.

This would be an issue for the scenario designer. In Red Storm, the scenario designer in campaigns could have made sure that the bridges were blown in the scenario. I would think the same is true for Southern Storm.

Well. OK then. :D

Playing and modding AGEOD's Civil War Deuce in the meantime.

Let me know if you guys ever think of taking this engine into an Age of Rifles time frame. After everything else is done of course. ;)

WABAC, we have discussed a Kriegspiel version of the game engine, but it will be some time before we get back to that one. We will keep you in mind.

Thanks.

Long decision loops before radio and field telephony. The commander might be as much in a fog about the location of his troops as the opposition, until the shooting starts. :geek:

Really looking forward to this! This is the first new(ish) game from Matrix, or honestly anyone, that I've anticipated this much in quite some time. From what I've seen, you've answered every wish I've had from FCRS and added much that I hadn't even thought about.

Smash the bugs, clean 'er up, finish the docs and send her out the door. I'm not getting any younger
