This one was small. SPWAW Players do not have a history (AFAIK) of playing many of these style tourneys so I wanted to start small and see if I can build interest over at WarfareHQ. If there is enough interest I will do either many mini ones (like this one) or a couple larger ones. My main focus has been the Combat Campaigns which while they are fun, there is much time of inactivity for some players until the actions moves near them. With elimination tourneys more pleople can be actively involved.

If anyone has trouble with the files please let me know. Many of you may experience the "OOB Corruption" message. Just select to override it. This is OK and it as much to to do with the fact that I created the actual secre PBEM game on my PC. This causes warinings since the game is being played on 2 other PC's and mine is out of the rotation.

Coming from a talented writer, I'm greatful, Alex. Yeah, the derringer up the sleeve or the shotgun up on that second floor porch worry me just as much. Gunfighters with bifocals are not at their peak anyway![X(]

Too late now. I'm in the street. Showdown...(Tex Ritter softly sings, "Here I am torn twixt love and duty, what if lose my fair-haired beauty...).

Just a little FYI on this scenario.

Due to the map and little number of units involved many of you will find this to be a very short and bloody battle for at least one side, maybe both. Once your opponent has you against the wall or you him, things with escalate sharply. There will be almost no chance to recover and it will become a "take as many enemy with you as you can" situation.

For the Czechs, you need to kill as many Poles as you can before they cross the bridge. Once the Poles manage to get forces across the bridge, its lights out for the Czechs.

Even though we are still waiting for 3 games to finish and they actually have until March 2 to do so, I have decided to post for your viewing pleasure, the results so far. You can see them by visiting the main site at
WFHQ SPWAW Tournament

Remember, the 4 highest scores for both the attacker and the defender advance to Round 2.

Round 2 Details Released

Post by DoubleDeuce »

Round 2 will be an April 1, 1943 Nationalist China vs. Communist China Meeting Engagement using the winning "Best Medium Map" from the 2003 SPWAW Map Contest. The map is titled "Kobersdorf" and was designed by Fradar. Here you can find some screenshots. Forces on both sides will consist of Cavalry troops only and will last for 15 turns.

I have also updated the Tournament Website with more information.
