Cannot find this feature?

Post by MarkShot »

In WITW when you chose BOMB CITY, you get a list of target cities filterable by industry. Then, you can click on the city and build the AD.

WITE-2 just comes up for BOMB CITY like GROUND ATTACK. I cannot figure out how to get the above. Or are the 2 engine bomber ranges so short and the map so big such a feature makes not sense. Just display factories on the map?

Please help.

Thanks.

I have not played WITW but as far as I heard the air system has been reworked "completely".

Historically Strategic bombing "Bomb City" was not of that great importance on the eastern front as it was on the western front. Maybe that's why they removed this option. Or they removed it because neither the Axis, nor the Soviets had sufficent intel to seriously create valid target lists  . As far as I know there isn't any list of enemy cities to search for valid targets Commanders Report only shows cities in own hexes.

As you said:
You can only use [shift+L] to show all factories, manpower, railyards etc. on the map for your own hexes while enemy hexes/cities with infrastructure targets will light up in some red colour. If you mouse over this red hexes you see what's located/beeing produced there.
When you pick F4 "Strategic Bombing AD" and choose your "Air Army/Air Command" the "green/black" logos will appear in the enemy hexes as well, there you also can mouse over the hexes for further information.

And finally if you left klick the target city to create the AD you then can see the industrial numbers on the "target-picker" section as well.

What may help you:
If you change the size of the mission area to be larger and pick to only target Heavy Industry (as an example) the bombing missons will only taget cities in that area with Heavy Industry in them.

You can get a good view of what is in enemy cities by using the "strategic recon" view (press shift-t twice).

Okay. Thank you.

I can see the same view that F4 (city attack), but as a map view and not a targeting view. That's decent.

That's another good suggestion. Thanks.
