Verbose Tooltips for Aliens on Colonies

Post by StormingKiwi »

When adjusting Colony Population settings, I want to know the value of the colonisation modifier for a particular alien.
So I use the tooltips, and...

... the tooltip is well-written, but ultimately not what I'm looking for.

What I'd like to see is a simple list of net modifiers for the selected species vs planet types.

Isn't it interesting how our planet has the conditions that could in theory house most of the races represented in in DW2.

Or a link to the Galactopedia as is implemented in DWU. I guess it is in the plans what you ask for.

The one planet one terrain trope is common, so I'm not surprised.

I do not want a Galactopedia link. That is even more inconvenient than my current solution - a printed copy of Scott's colonisation net modifier by race chart - because rather than being able to do everything from one screen, I'd have to open the Galactopedia, check the preferences, close the Galactopedia, and apply the migration policy for every species in the empire and for every planet type in the empire, then update that every time either species or planet type changes.

I agree that for ease of use and expediency the tooltip would be preferable! But say, for a nine-year-old, the parent may want to promote the investigative and learning 'slow-mo' style. Not that I am suggesting that DW2 is marketed and developed for such a use. What does steam have on its recommended maturity rating standard? I could have looked it up myself but then I'd have to read what the standard on assessing maturity ratings are.
