I have taken the whip to the installer who botched the hot fix 181. 10 lashes across the back with a cat of nine tails.

The hot fix is now correct for MATRIX...
it was ALWAYS correct for STEAM.

It will be up soon for the MATRIX version.

So look on the Matrix website. If the hot fix patch is 10/18 and 1.00.182 then that is the right one.
On the launcher it will say 1.00.182.
In game it will say 1.00.181.

The scenarios will be correct also for the UK armor.... should be or I will whip myself.
The 1st time you run the game it will update the scenarios.

As Butcher would say "easy, peasy"

So check date, check the number.

Steam auto updates.

Matrix..... Login (if you have to) -> My Page -> Find WarPlan -> Copy key -> File Downloads -> download hotfix at the top

I also have endless trouble with the updates from this game, This time is no exceptioi have been to my page and files and see nothing related to any hotfix, Cant we just put a down load link be so my easier. The latest file on my page is this , at the moment when i try and download game file from opponent whom is steam user i just keep getting communicating with server.

Well let's start with is this a Matrix or Steam version? Also let me give some history on this last patch.

The installers messed up one of the Steam updates and one of the Matrix updates that I didn't figure out for I think 2-3 weeks. Somehow none of the players told me. It came to me when I saw many of the new games the older edition and then someone mentioned they couldn't update on Steam. Usually they give me the build, I test it, looks good, and I give the go ahead to make it live. Well they didn't make it live for Steam last time.

With Matrix they put the files in the wrong place thus it was never updated.

A couple issues that are well known for Matrix installs and possibly Steam but I am not sure if this impacts Steam yet.

#1 Security software really messes with Matrix installs. It doesn't allow the game to run properly. Either you have to give the game admin rights or place it on the safe list.

#2 Sometimes, and I don't know why, it tries to install to One Drive.

#3 Some people have 2 lightweight firewall/security software on their computers and each interfere with the multiplayer games. This happens when someone updates say Adobe and they sneak in a Norton Security Software install in a devious way and you don't notice. Even I have fallen for this rushing through updates. When both are operating as firewalls it messes up connecting to the internet for the game.

#4 If somehow the user isn't an admin on their PC. Or if they don't have enough rights to run the game it doesn't allow it to write files or connect to the internet properly.

In any case I will be happy to help you. The easiest way is to get the Steam key, if you have Matrix, and install it that way as the game is wrapped around the Steam package. I have seen less issues with the Steam version than Matrix.

Ive got a game going and having no issues with that player and like me he is a Matrix installer, my other game i get trying to connect to server endlessly is a steam installed player, up until a few days ago we had no issuees. Are you suggesting i reinstall using the Steam Key?

Is it the 2 different games in WarPlan OR 1 game in WPE and 1 in WPP?

If the latter is the case then be sure the non-working game is running as admin or put it in the safe list of the security software

Both games is the 1939 Scenario with two different players

It might be a corrupt file. Give me the game ID and I will set it back one turn. This sometimes happens. This would be like the 4th or 5th time in 3 years.
