This sounds like some kind of simulation lag issue, which would typically only appear if you are running a larger galaxy than is ideal for your system well into the late game. If you have a save file that duplicates these for you, please post a thread in the tech support sub-forum and share it with us so that we can see what might be causing that for you. Please also include your system specs when you do that.

Mail sent with wetransfer, p6.zip.
300 stars, 8 enemies, very few pirates and very few space creatures.

Delete the mechanic jump range, so less calculations.
Ships in fleets shouldn't be allowed to have other missions than the fleet has.
Star fighters hve to fly instant to their mother ship if fleet want fly away.
At galaxy generation let us disable star fighter tech, for tests only.

Although the fuel tanker design Lb1000 is obsolet, the ai build them (tried to play without fuel tankers).

Does the ai invade all enemies in a good time by you? There are enough invasion fleets with enough troops. At me the fleets only start their job if I double click on them to focus and zoom to them.

Currently having two problems. One in DX mode other in Vulkan mode.
Problem 1) In DX mode tech tree lags heavily when fully revealed. If not fully revealed it lags progressively more every time you unlock techs. In Vulkan mode however it is perfectly smooth.
Problem 2) In Vulkan mode opening the fleets/armies screen causes the game to spike ram usage (used all free ram. 12 gigs at least) and subsequently crash (i assume by running out of ram). This is consistent and i get it no matter what stage of game i am in.
This makes neither mode a good choice unfortunately.
First one from above was a problem in 1.0.6.4. Cant say if second one was.

There is also a weird problem with not having any default army templates for some reason after starting new game. You have to make all them manually. This is a new problem.

1.0.8.3 has now become an official update, which means it also includes a Matrix stand-alone installer. There will be a new public beta update later this week.

How can I tell when saves carry over and include new changes? I have been starting new games with every beta, which is quite often...not complaining; love the game and I cannot wait for the other races. I just want to find a spot and have a LONG play through.

Also, does anyone know of a way (other than disconnecting internet) that will allow me to stay on a beta using Steam? It autoupdated everytime I launch the game.

I guess my best bet would be opt out of beta, go to latest release, and stay on that.

This beta just converted into the current Life Build.

So I guess now is as good a time as any to start a longer game.

No new game. It's a 1.0.8.3 savegame.
Fleet (without star fighter) invasions works now better. With star fighter I will test friday.
