Unit type modifiers only apply to CUs and not SUs?

Post by MarkShot »

Do I understand that correct? So, if I attach an armored regiment to an infantry division, a penalty of halving or quartering the armor CV will not applied attacking into light or heavy woods respectively? These only apply at the CU classification level. Is that correct?

So, by attaching some armor to my infantry, I can beef up its effective range of engagement? (That's what I am looking to do while still using it for covered and built up attacks mainly.)

Thanks.

My understanding is that this is assessed at each line of the TOE, so yes the tanks in the panzer division will be affected but ant motorised infantry in the panzer unit will be treated as infantry

As jason said, eacht TOE line/each asset is being looked at separately to determine the terrain defence bonuts.

So adding a StuG-SU to and Inf-CU results in the StuGs being "debuffed" by terrain/density like any regular Tanks/AFVs.

The StuGs get "/2*3" and the Support dudes get "*2*3" in heavy woods.

Okay, so you must be very careful with your attachements.

I have recently started fighting my battles for a HEX(S)+VL treating it as if it was sub-game in itself. This approach has helped m better to visualize what I am trying to achieve.
