Axis Impulse #7
Weather is Fine everywhere except in the Arctic which has rain.
Japan does a DoW against the Allies.
Germany uses an offensive chit to activate Manstein. Japan uses one to do a super-combined. Italy takes a combined.
A massive port strike is launched against Pearl Harbour. Japan uses some of its 10 surprise points to deflect the AAA. One bomber is indeed destroyed with a lowest roll of 5 on 1 of 4 dice which is not that great. The strike nets 1 bottomed BB, a destroyed BB, a damaged BB, an aborted BB.

Italy moves a FTR into the 1-box in the East Med. This is followed up with a Naval Move carrying a loaded TRS w/INF to the same box. Japan moves many units into invasion and convoy interdiction positions.
Japan first activates in Polynesian Sea and finds with 11 surprise points and all CPs (3) in that zone are wiped out. Next is the New Zealand Coast Zone... Japan finds with 14 surprise and again wipes out the 3 CPs in that zone. They find again in the Marshals with 11 points and wipe out the lone CP there. However, Japan fails to find in the Solomons. They do find with 4 surprise in the East Indian Ocean. A Dutch NEI CP is damaged, and the remaining CW CP aborts the sea area. Japan fails to find in the Bismark Sea and in the Coral Sea. It does find in the Timor sea with 7 surprise points destroying the NEI CP in that zone. South China sea also has a favourable search for the Japanese with 13 surprise, decimating the American CPs (2) located there. Finally, a search in the Bay of Bengal fails there. Italy activates no searches, but CW does attempt activation in the East Med. A German strong 6 factor FTR adds to Italians in the 1 box. A 5 factor CW FTR goes to the 0 Box. The CW successful finds with 2 surprise and elects to do a naval air combat. It uses surprise points to increase Air-to-Air combat by a column. The Italian NAV is cleared and both sides abort air combat... and the NAV achieves a 1/2 Abort against a CA. In the 2nd round, the Italians successfully find, but they deftly avoid combat.

Japan STRAT Bomb of Lanchow nets 1 BP from China. An Italian ART (2) and 2 doubled German ART (3, 4) Ground strike Dnepropetrovsk. A 6-factor LND attempts a GS on the North end of Crimea and a 2 factor LND gives it a go on the Dniepr bridgehead 2 hexes SE of Kiev. There are no interceptions. All units north of Crimea are disorganized as are all the units in Dneproprovsk. The armour stack has no units flipped.
No rail moves are made. Germany moves units forward to attack Dnepropetrovsk and shuffles other units into attack positions. A doubled 8 ARM overruns a 2 factor MIL on the front. Japan positions invasion, gaining 7 +21 attacks in the Pacific theatre. Units take the Malaysian resources and move towards an empty Singapore.
A paradrop is conducted on Dnepropetrovsk with a 4 factor German Para on an Italian ATR. It is intercepted by a 5 Factor MIG which is in turn countered by 6-FTR from the Axis. The ATR is cleared in the combat and drops. No ground support is offered by either sides, the odds being too high in Dnepropetrovsk at 75.5:13 (+15.846) to be worth risking any Russian LND/FTR. A series of auto-attacks are made by Japan taking several important ports for eventual conquests.
Manstein reorganizes an FTR and an LND and some ground units

Allied Impulse #9
The USA makes a DoW against Germany and Italy. Panama is aligned.
The USA chooses a Naval as do the French. The CW take a combined. USSR and China take Lands.
CW does at Port Strike againsf 2 Italian BBs in Athens... they are intercepted by a German FTR3 and counter intercepted by 2 3 factor Glads and a 4 factor Fulmar CV from the CW. The CW 4 surprise is used to increase Attack by air 1 column and decrease the Axis air attack by 1 column. The CW has no negative effects while the German plane suffers a DX result. 2 of 6 naval attack factors are reduced by AAA. 1 lightly armoured BB is damaged while the other strong BB suffer a 1/2 abort.
The US moves Naval units into more advantageous positions for future work and retreats unneeded CP. CW moves a TRS and some CPs out of harms way. France does not do much at all except moves some of the reorganized CPs from last impulse into oceans.
During Allied searches, a CV fleet of the US happens to roll fairly luckily and finds a couple of CP hunting CAs in the Polynesian Sea. In the resulting AAA, the Japanese get a low of 8 on 3 dice and destroy a CVP! 5 Air to Sea get through to attack. Lucky for the Japanese, 1 CA is damaged while the other is aborted. CW also initiates in the Italian Coast and the German Condor moves to cover the Italian CP there. CW SUBS find but not with enough to nullify the Condor so they select escorts in the 2 box. They use their surprise points to inflict damage on the escorts damaging 1 and aborting 1 with 1 left while both SUBs are aborted in turn. CW attempts to find in East Med but is surprise and the Italians avoid combat in that area.
3 CW STRAT Bombers hit Stettin with no interceptors in range. A roll of 1 means no damage to German production.
Russia rails a factory from Kursk to beyond the Urals. Land moves are to strengthen the Front. CW moves units forward in Egypt looking to bring the ART forward especially. China abides.
USA reorganizes some CPs in Hawaii and American Samoa.
Turn does not end with a roll of 6 when below 4 is required.
Axis Impulse #11
Rain in Arctic, North Temperate and S. Monsoon. Fine everywhere else.
Japan and Italy take combineds. Germany takes a land.
No Naval Air moves. Japan moves an AMPH into the South China Sea and picks up the 7 INF in Brunei. Italy moves a CL into the 4 box in the Italian Coast. Japan searches the Coral Sea eliciting a reactive intercept by an Australian NAV in the 0 box. No one finds and the Naval portion ends.
There are no Strat Bombing missions. Ground Strikes are done on an NEI unit in Batavia (1 factor each from 2 CVP).
German does 2 strikes on Novgorod and 1 on units on the coast of the Sea of Azov. No intercepts are conducted. Only 1 unit, along the Sea of Azov, is disorganized.
No rail moves are found to be necessary. Germany moves to further surround Novgorod and to attack into Crimea. Japan takes over Singapore. A Japanese unit is debarked adjacent to Batavia raising the numbers there.
Italy carried a German PARA into the north Crimea hex. There is no interceptor in range.
Attacks are carried out north of Crimea and on Novgorod. HQ support is added to the latter attack. Japan declares on Batavia adding as much shore bombardment as possible.
At +21 Batavia is taken automatically. Novgorod falls on a modified 23. North Crimea falls with the loss of a Mech Div by Germany, 2 disorganized units and defender shattered.
No reorganizations occur.
The turn ends on a roll of 2.

Re: Solo AAR for Global War
May/June 1942
Allies win initiative... no reroll is allowed.
Allied Impulse #1
Weather is Fine everywhere.
USA aligns Mexico.
USA and France take Naval actions. The CW takes a combined. The USSR and China both take Land actions.
CW moves an FTR in Gibraltar into the 0 box in the West Med and one into the 0 box in the East Med. For Naval moves, CW moves a strong CV fleet into the East Med. A carrier is moved to the 0 Box in Cape St. Vincent. The USA and France move ships to escort CPs in the Atlantic with a few units being transported to off-load later in the turn at CW bases in Western Africa. CA screens are set up in uncontested sea zones in the Pacific to take advantage of presence of the enemy and set up for possible counters by the American CV fleets at Honolulu and Pago Pago. CPs are moved into safe areas in the Pacific for later convoy route establishment.
Combat is activated in the East Med... no A/C from either side joins. Allies find with 3 surprise. A Naval Air is chosen. Surprise is used to increase Air Combat value by a column. The 1st round aborts the German FTR with no result on the CW CVPs. All Italian ships are aborted and supply to North Africa has been cut for this impulse. SUBs activate for the Americans in the Bismark Sea... they find with 6 surprise and use 4 to choose SUB combat. 1 SUB in damaged. 3 surprise are used to select the Japanese CV for destruction and it goes down as does the CP. There are no other activations by either side this impulse.
Unfortunately, I neglected to take a screen shot of the SUB engagement, but trust me, it was exciting

Allied Impulse #1 con't
There is no Strat Bombing done this impulse. The CW conducts an ART and FTR ground strike against the ARM-HQ and Div in Egypt. Only the HQ is disorganized.
A couple of MIL units are railed to the Front in Russia while an FTR is railed from Bombay to Calcutta. During Land movement, China moves units incrementally into French Indo-China. The CW moves units to attack the Axis stack in Egypt. Russia moves units forward to set up a 2 hex indepth defense. In China, the Communists move their new ART forward and start working to sweep the Japanese lines in the North.
CW declares an attack in Egypt. With shore bombardment, they can get +21. Italy calls an assault. The units are destroyed and the Axis has been driven from Egypt.
Rebases occur with a move of the PBY in Midway down near Pago Pago. Russia repositions and China moves an FTR closer to the Front in the South. The CW moves an FTR closer to the front in Egypt. Gort in Egypt reorganizes the ART.

Axis Impulse #2
Germany takes a Land, Italy, a Naval and Japan, a combined.
Italy moves an FTR into the 1 box in the East Med. SUBs join the one already in Cape St. Vincent's and supply to North Africa is reestablished with a BB and CL under the FTR in the 1 Box. the CP in the Italian Coast has some escorts join it.
Cape St. Vincent's is searched but neither side finds. On the other hand, CW searches East Med and an Italian NAV joints its fellow units in the 1 Box. The CW finds while Italy does not and gains 7 surprise points. 2 points are used to increase Air combat value. With a 16, the Italians destroy the Allied CV bomber with pilot... the CW has the NAV cleared on the other hand. Air combat is finished. In the Naval combat, the CW AAA drives away all the NAV factors. In the second search, the CW finds while Italy fails giving 5 surprise to the CW. A surface is chosen, using 4 of the 5 points. Poor rolls mean an Italian BB and CL are both sunk. On the other hand, a CW CL is fortunate to get damaged rather than destroyed and also gets the abort value. In a 3rd round, both sides find successfully with no surprise. The Air combat clears through the Italian NAV with no other effect. The Illustrious CV is damaged and aborted. A 4th round sees the CW achieve 8 surprise points. All are set on Air Attack. The CW manages to destroy the Italian NAV. In the next round, a German Condor joins the 1 Box. The CW again finds with 8 surprise and again, all points go to Air Attack combat. The Condor is destroyed in the Air combat and no other effect occurs. For the 6th round, the final Italian NAV comes out to play in the 0 Box. Again found, the CW has 10 surprise, once more set on Attack bonus for air. The Italian FTR is aborted as is the Air combat, leaving the NAV for this round. For the 7th round, another Italian FTR joins the fray. For once, no one finds and the fight is ended in this zone.

Axis Impulse #2
Japan Strat Bombs Lanchow. A roll of 1 leads to no BP loss for China. Italy and Germany conduct ground strikes on a hex along the coast, SW of Stalino (1 and 2 LND respectively). They are unintercepted. All three units are disorganized (by the 6 factor Stuka... the other 2 LND were unnecessary).
Germany rails 2 MIL to the front. Land moves set up for attacks. Japan does no land moves.
Japan invades Hanoi with 3 units. Germany does 3 attacks... one is against a 3 (4) factor partisan near Vitebsk. Another is against a 4 point MIL a few hexes west of Kalinin. The final attack is near Stalino on the south coast along the Sea of Azov. Ground support is added by Germany and Japan to various attacks. Russia brings in an FTR and LND to the combat near Stalino. A German 6 FTR joins in as a counter-interceptor. A Russian 5 destroys the FTR and the Russian LND clears. The second air round is another 5 destroying the front LND. The last one aborts.
The hex near Stalino is taken with no losses on either side. USSR retreats while the Germans are 1/2 disorganized. The Partisan is destroyed, but takes a MOT Div with it. A unit in the Northern forest is destroyed without loss or flipping. Japan takes Hanoi without loss.
Manstien and Guderian do some reorganizing of both units and air along the Southern Front.

Allied Impulse #3
A weather roll of 4 means Fine everywhere except for the North Monsoon.
The USA activates Brazil.
The USA and CW both take a combined action. France takes a Naval and China/USSR take Lands.
The CW moves a few FTR into the 0 boxes in the Med Sea Zones. The Allies move CPs around part of which is establishing CPs in the Mediterranean Sea.
CW initiates combat in the East Med. Both sides find with 1 surprise point to the CW. Both roll 17s in the Air combat and so, CW loses a CVP while the Italians lose an FTR and abort the NAV to end the air combat. A 2nd round occurs with CW gaining 2 surprise... it is put on Air Attack columns. An Italian 3 roll destroys the last CVP in the sea zone but an 8 aborts the NAV, again cutting supply to North Africa. There are no other successful activations.
No STRAT bombing is done.
CW rails an FTR from Bombay to a port bordering Burma. It moves units towards Libya. The USSR strengthens its lines and retrenches in the north. In China, units continue looking to flank Japanese lines in the North. China withdraws a bit in French-Indochina in consideration of the Japanese successful attacks there. Several American units debark in CW bases in Western Africa.
There are no attacks. Air rebases are done and Chiang is used to reorganize a disorganized INF.

Axis Impulse #4
Germany takes a Land, Italy takes an Air, Japan takes a Naval Action.
Japan moves various ships, picking up units for later invasions and setting convoy lines.
A successful search is made of the Polynesian sea to find 4 unescorted CPs. 6 surprise points are allotted to the Japanese. The combat leads to 2 CPs lost and 2 aborted. The Americans activate in the Bismark Sea and achieve 9 surprise. 4 are used to select SUB, 2 mitigate damage, and 3 are once more used to select a CV, this time only damaging it when the roll is made. The Naval step ends.
Ground Strikes are conducted by the Germans west of Stalino, and ART and a Stuka. They are intercepted by a 5 factor Yak which is in turn intercepted by a 6 factor German FTR. The German FTR is aborted and no result against the Russian FTR. The Stuka decides to stick it out. It is aborted the next round. In the subsequent GS, no units are disorganized by the 4 factor ART.
Germany moves units around the front, but with the failure of the GSs, sees no good attacks.
After rebases, Germany reorganizes units in the south and north, hoping for better luck with GS next impulse.

Allied Impulse #5
Weather is Fine everywhere except in the N. Monsoon which has Rain.
USA and USSR take combineds, France a Naval, and CW and China take lands.
USSR moves 2 SUBs into the Baltic. The USA sends a CA into the Solomon's to see if something can be done about Presence of the Enemy.
USSR activates in the Baltic... a Condor is moved into the 3 box by Germany. The Condor finds the SUBs with 6 surprise points. All are set to increase attack giving 1X 2A results. 1 SUB is destroyed and the other, aborted. The USA searches the Bismark Sea but is surprised by 5 points, 2 going to increase and 2 to decrease damage. Ends up that 1 SUB is destroyed and 1 makes the roll and is only damaged. Japan activates in the Solomon's and finds with a lot of surprise... 11 to be exact. 2 nullify the AA and the rest go to increased damage. The sacrificial lamb dies and the Naval phase ends.
The CW STRAT Bombs Stettin at extended range, with no interception. A roll of 1 nets nothing. The Chinese Communists attempt a 2 factor ART GS against an out of supply Japanese unit in the north. Two LNDs attempt to strike a stack of Germans in the Forest (out of intercept range). The Chinese roll a 2 and gain success while the forest Strike gets one of the Axis MECHS.
Chinese solidify lines in Indo-China. Chinese Communists work toward attacking the OOS and flipped Japanese unit in Taiyuan. CW moves into Libya and towards Syria. Russia dresses its line as well as it can.
Attacks are declared on Tobruk and Taiyuan. Shore bombardment is added to the former. Japan adds 2 factors of Ground Support to Taiyuan. Taiyuan is taken with the attacker disorganized. Tobruk also falls with no bad results for the CW and both units destroyed.
Zhukov reorganizes 2 FTRs.

Axis Impulse #6
Germany and Japan take Land Actions while Italy takes a combined.
No Naval moves, but Italy activates in Cape St. Vincent. However, with 5 surprise points, the Allied force Avoids combat.
There is no STRAT Bombing. German does an LND/ART GS against the hex west of Stalino, again. It is intercepted again. There is also a GS SW of Smolensk, across the river. It is likewise intercepted and countered. Near Smolensk, the German LND is cleared and the Russian FTR shot down with the pilot surviving. Near Stalino, the German LND is likewise cleared and the Russian FTR aborted. All 3 units in both affected stacks are disorganized.
No rail moves are undertaken. Japan draws units back in the North, leaving Sian slightly more vulnerable. Germany moves more units forward, hoping to make opportunistic attacks against disorganized Russians. Italy moves its Balboa HQ to supply some German troops on their way to the front. Japan debarks a number of units in the Philippines.
Japan invades islands in controlled sea areas at +21 odds. An Italian ATR paradrops a German Div with no interception. German declares attacks SW of Smolensk and west of Stalino.
Ground support is brought in by both sides in the combats on the Russian Front, with intercepting FTRs for each. Over Smolensk West, no LND get through on either side and some AC are destroyed. In the South, 3 Russian LND get through while only 1 FTR is lost. The Germans lose 1 LND and 2 FTR (no screen shot unfortunately). Nevertheless, the combat roll in the South is a modified 21 and shatters the defenders with no losses to the attacker and no disorganizations. In the North, near Smolensk, an modified 23 is rolled. Finally, three more island ports are conquered by Japan and more conquered island chains will be added to its territory in the next while.
Not too many A/C left to rebase and one HQ reorg of A/C in the North of Russia.
