Yeah, the maps are real works of art, warms an old Grog's heart to see

But why on earth is the default set to "Moderately Muted", you lose all those nice colours!

We chose moderately muted so the counters and other markers "pop" a bit more. The cool thing is you can go set the map saturation to whatever level you like and then play with the combinations of counter styles and colors to go with the map. :D

Yes, the maps are great. I play with the full color ones because they are so nice looking.

Also, I'm happy to see that you named the map files by major city. This makes it easy to determine where they are in the real world when designing scenarios.

Also, I see they are jpg files and thus can be called up in a draw program and drawn on. One thing the tutorials have taught me is there is a great need to write out your plan and doing so graphically is the way to doit. Just like the real staff planners have to do. The briefing maps will work great for tis.

There are a number of ways to do planning maps. As you noted, the map is a JPG; you can copy it from the maps folder. You can use the Staff menu and do a Copy Map to Clipboard. You can also use the Battlefield Survey OAG PDF and print maps from the book.

The 'moderate/muted colour' schemes not only help the counters 'pop' but are brilliant for people - like me - with red-green colour blindness. Thanks!
