DxDiag attached. Default Win10 security package. I did notice that when I try to open a Campaign the folder it is looking to it in my Users directory, not the game directory. I don't see the same path in the Scenarios area. I am un-installing / re-installing now.Erik Rutins wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:21 pm Could you please share your system specs with us and tell us if you have any anti-virus/security software installed which you could turn off and try an uninstall/reinstall?
Also, try restarting your system to see if it makes any difference please.
Sounds good, uninstall-reinstall has the same results.IronManBeta wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:39 pm I'm a developer and this falls into my area.
The game is clearly looking in an empty folder for the scenarios. That should be easy to fix when I get a sense of the layout of your install. I see that you just posted a screenshot while I was typing this. Let me have a look.
Thanks, Rob C
We haven't seen this on our systems or those of the test team, but it's clearly failing in a few cases. Have you tried this work-around yet?actrade wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:51 pm FWIW, as Rob knows, I am having an issue where I see the campaign and scenarios, but the game can't find them. Also, I did have one instance where neither the campaigns or the scenarios showed up like the original poster, but I shut the game down and restarted it and that solved it. However, my issue continues as the game can't find the scenarios/campaigns.
I copied the contents to the other location and still had no luck. I uninstalled and re-installed into a location at c:\Matrix Games\ and it worked perfectly.
I did have the three command prompt windows flash up every time I loaded FCSS. With the working install I no longer see those.IronManBeta wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 6:23 pm
Recap - the problem first reported by TitaniumTrout (great name) hasn't been solved but reinstalling to a non-default folder (as we typically do here at OTS) worked fine. I'm assuming you are good now but I really need to find out why the internal file copying failed. We shell to XCopy to make that copy operation as fast as possible. This causes two or three command prompt windows to flash up on the desktop just before the game starts as the files are copied. My guess is that either XCopy is not available on your computer for some reason, or it is disabled by some policy or security setting. Hmmm. That is something I can check for and use a slower but more certain method in the future. I will add this to my to do list asap.
Cheers, Rob C
This is top of my action list. We never had problems before but clearly something is going on now. I have a specific fix in mind and I'm on it.JWW wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 9:50 pm Same happened to me. Scenarios not showing, campaigns showing and opening. I followed the copy/paste instructions and everything seems to be fine now. I can open and play scenarios.
