Re: All things Football (soccer) related
Well everyone who has been to the stadium says it's the best they've been to.
As for history, Everton ground has loads of history but it's a dated ground that's why they want/need to build a new stadium. Or check Man Utd ground, that is slowley falling down. They desperately need to do something. So history really means nothing about how great a stadium is.
SPurs new ground even has an American football pitch that rolls out over the football pitch!!
It's certainly the best in the UK. Remember it's was only completed 2 years ago. Cost over 1billion pounds I believe.
Anyway best in the UK, one of the best managers, two of the best forwards and already signed three new players two of which are great signings who will play straight away, the other back up to Loris. I'm hoping this year we will be pushing Chelsea all the way for third spot. SHould be if all goes well. Couple more signings of the quality we have got so far will be superb

Wishing the Lionesses all the best for Sunday. Sadly they are up against the Germans and we know how England vs Germany usually ends in football.....but hope springs eternal Baldrick

Viking FK (or Viking Stavanger internationally) went through to the third qualifying round in Conference League after knocking out Sparta Prague. 0-0 away and finally 2-1 at home. Can Sligo Rovers FC from Ireland beat the mighty Vikings from Norway in the third qualifying round? I hope not… Sligo beating Scottish side Motherwell over two matches(!). Hmm…
Forza Viking!

Congrats to England for bringing it back home in front of a record attendance to any Euro Championship final ever! What a thriller it was, too

Agreed. It was terrific to watch.
I would have had to go out if it got to penalties.

Congratulations, England, for a well deserved title.

Unless the TV broadcaster muted the sound (and there is no suggestion it did) then the minute silence for Queen Elizabeth II was respectfully observed by the Italian and German fans.
Well done to them. Class.

I think there is some sort of football tournament starting now. Should we have some sort of friendly tipping competition?

I think the most unanticipated World Cup since the 1930's is about to start.
My tip. England will struggle to get out of the group (most likely) or win it with ease (unlikely) - or anything in between. But regardless of their group performance they will then lose comprehensively in the first knock out match they play.

No offence but has there EVER been a more uninspiring opening match in a World Cup Finals.......?

Worse. I put my honour on the line. And pizza.
We each picked ten teams, and England was my number one pick.

I am not following football, and I mean literally. Don't know who won the last major leagues and other competitions and I'm dead serious XD Hope you enjoy it though. No prediction at all then.
