Goblin Scenario Packet!!!

Post by Goblin »

Alot of you may be unaware, but I have done a few scenarios recently! I have had the best in the business helping me learn.

Take the Monastery!

A large map with a British attack into a town and hilltop Monastery. They face the Germans. Good for PBEM or from either side versus the computer.

Ambush in the Balkans!

Short, fast convoy ambush. Played as the Yugoslavian partisans. Shoot up a German column as it exits a tunnel.

Professionals

A joint Office of Strategic Services / USMC Raider commando attack on a Japanese island Type 11 radar station. A small scenario for play from the USMC side.

Workhorses

A balanced tank battle on a small map. Either the German side or American side can be used against the AI, or it can be played PBEM. The battle rages to see who controls a crossroads town.

Man the Guns!

A small defense scenario. The Germans have smashed into the US rear areas, and you plan on stopping them with your battery of 105mm guns.

For the most part they are all fast-paced, action filled, and quick playing scenarios. You can check them out in my Showcase at The SPWaW Depot, in the forums. Remember to check out the other Showcased designers areas and the Scenario area for even more scenarios to play! The Depot Forums!

Ya gotta look in the Member Forums part of the site, which Goblin did kinda say, though perhaps not too clearly :)

Post edited, thanks Alex...[:o]

Gvaihir - the files area is not fully functional on the site yet, so we are using the forums for now. You will see a Scenario section, and also Showcases for your favorite designers (Wild Bill, Orzel Bialy, Redleg, Warrior, FRADAR, M4Jess, Goblin) where you will find some extremely good scenarios by them. Hope you stop by and enjoy!

Coming soon!

Frigid cold. A snowstorm is underway. Men crunch through the snow at a run. A machinegun lights the night ahead, and men tumble. Blood freezes as it spills...

A long line of soldiers. The call goes out "Fix bayonets!" A rattle and click as the long steel blades are snapped home. Officers draw their sabres with a hiss of metal on leather. Cannon are loaded behind the firing line. "Front rank kneel! Steady boys! AIM...."

The creak of ropes on wood. The master artillerist adjusts the aim slightly...

Arrows slam into flesh and glance off helmets. Men fire back blindly, hoping to hit something in the blinding snow. The sickening thunk of a spear piercing a body is heard between bursts..

There! Cottages ahead! The men surge forward towards their goal. A man spots something in the snow and stoops to pick it up. Pieces of him and his squad fly outward from the booby trap...

The swish of skis as troops are rushed to battle...

The boys pull iron. They thumb the last few rounds into their carbines. Their horses shift nervously under them. With a whoop, they charge into the enemy, pistols blazing...

The small snow mound silently creeps forward another meter. There. The sniper takes aim thru the telescopic sights, and squeezes the trigger. Another man pitches into the snow. The enemy fires blindly as the sniper centers his sights on another enemy soldier...

We also have added dlazov to our Showcased designers! Check out his scenarios at The Depot forums!

_____Assault on Xmastown*
___Elf Defense / Nazi Advance*
Xmastown, North Pole - Dec, 1943*
___V8 / 24 Turns / Small Map*
_Design: Eric 'Goblin' DiNicola*
____Email: goblin@spwaw.com*
______Testers:Gman/hogg**

The Norwegian Resistance has uncovered a fiendish Nazi plot! Hitler is assembling some of his finest mountain troops and SS stormtroopers to kill an important man: Santa Claus!! The enemy commander is none other than the ruthless Colonel Grinchhaus himself!**

The resistance gets word to Santa, but tell him they will be unable to help. Santa immediately calls an emergency meeting of his Elves. It is agreed that they have had enough of Hitler, and that they should fight! Elf toy factories are retooled for defense, and Elf master craftsmen turn out arms to equip the Elves. They gear up for battle!**

Modifications are also made to some of the Christmas presents that would have gone to the attacking Nazi's! Bad boys don't get presents. The Elves stay busy for two weeks, right up until the attack. The Nazi's strike at 0500 on the day before Christmas Eve.**

Santa puts out a call for help, which is answered by his close friend, Jack Frost. Reinforcements are on the way, and a blinding snowstorm begins. Even as the attack starts, the Elf toy factories still churn out troops. They must hold Xmastown!!!**

Watch for it today at The Depot!

______Canucks in Sicily*
Canadian Assault / Italian Defend*
Near Regalbuto Sicily- July, 1943*
___V8 / 24 turns / Small Map *
_Design : Eric 'Goblin' DiNicola*
__Email : goblin@spwaw.com*
______Map by : tracer*
_______Testers:chief**

NOTE: The Canadian 1st Infantry Division and the 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade were part of the British 8th Army during the attack on Sicily. The Canadians were on the 8th Army's left flank. They faced not only Italian troops, but members of the 15th Panzer Division and Herman Goring Division. The Canadians fought with bravery and skill. In 38 days of fighting, they suffered 2310 casualties, including 562 men killed in action. This is a fictional scenario set in the area where they fought.**

The Germans and Italians are being pushed farther towards the northeastern areas of Sicily. As they retreat, their resistance stiffens. Your unit is to attack and capture the ridges along the Division's line of advance. The Italians are digging in, and must not be given more time. They are supported by tough German troops, who will most likely put up a good fight.**

Many thanks to tracer for this excellent map!!**

Excellent testing by chief helped refine this one! I hope you enjoy it.

If you like my first one, Professionals, then you will most likely love this one.

______Professionals Alternate*
USMC Beach Assault/Japanese Defend*
____Pacific Island / August 1943*
____v8.1 / 24 Turns / Island Map*
_Designed By : Eric 'Goblin' DiNicola*
____Email : goblin@spwaw.com*
__Testers : Ezriver/chief/Redleg**
NOTE: This scenario is designed for play from the USMC side only. Play with all options ON except for C&C. Your transports are packed full! Avoid losses to them until they unload. Use smoke cover to your advantage. The landing beaches should be obvious, compliments of naval destroyer and cruiser guns.**
A joint OSS Commando / USMC Raider strike on a Type 11 radar station has failed. Famed Colonel Isaac was wounded badly, and the commandos only narrowly escaped to their insertion submarines (play Professionals, also by me).**
Now, a month later, the Marines are going ashore again. This time they go in at dawn, and in force. The enemy has had a month to prepare and to be reinforced. Japanese radar stations are under control of their Navy, and the Marines can expect to face Japanese Special Naval Landing Force troops.**
The Marines grimly climb the rope nets to their transports, as naval surface vessels begin a thunderous bombardment of the beaches. Navy Dauntless dive-bombers scream by overhead as the landing craft race for the beaches.**
Hidden in the hills and jungle of the small island, the Japanese defenders prepare for the Marine assault. Machinegun bolts are worked, grenades brought close to hand, and breechblocks on cannon slammed closed. The defenders will not be taken easily.**
TIPS: Turning off some of the naval guns and firing one or two at a .5 delay will still pound the defenders, but leave you a lot of ammo. You have a company of Marines in transports as a reserve. Feel free to be creative with them. Use your landing craft MG's to fire on defenders.*
