Tacview Day/Night does not match scenario time of day

Post by boogabooga »

I've noticed that often when the scenario local time is day (even for all of the units in the scenario), it appears to be night in Tacview and vice versa.

If you need an example, the scenario in this thread's OP fits: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 0&t=389783

Even though it is supposedly 02:47:17 local time, in Tacview the sun is still low in the sky.
The boogabooga doctrine for CMO: Any intentional human intervention needs to be able to completely and reliably over-ride anything that the AI is doing at any time.

Bump, I have this same issue. Almost appears as though TacView is showing the opposite light condition, as per boogabooga's post.

Edit: Had a play around with the time offset settings in TacView, but doesn't seem to make any difference. It was originally set to UTC +/- 0 (default), and changing that to +12 or -12 doesn't seem to flip the day/night display. Odd one.

Thanks for confirming you have the same issue. The UTC offset just changes the time showing in the top left corner in standalone Tacview. It does not change the sun's position, which is determined by the mission time, which in this case is provided by CMO. It seems to be off by 12 hours in some cases.
