Desert Fox Mega Campaign Orders and Limited Supplies!... Please Read

Post by David Heath »

Every order for Mega Campagin Desert Fox 1941 should now be filled. The current in stock version of Desert Fox contains v5.3 of SPWaW and the new Stereo Sounds. This will be the last copies of Mega Campaign Desert Fox we make. Once these are sold out they are gone for good. If your order still shows you processing please wait until Monday and double check. If you feel there is a problem please open a help desk ticket (http://www.matrixgames.com/help.asp). PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST CREATE AN ACCOUNT for the Help Desk. It DOES NOT use the same password and login name as our store! If picked USPS the number given back is not a tracking number but a pick up number.

We have found a VERY high lost of packages being shipped via USPS and we are not going to be offering that service any longer unless you are at APO, FPO or P.O. Box. Plus we want all orders to have tracking numbers.

Matrix Games has just arrange some nice discounts for our customers using FedEx or UPS shipping service. These discounts can range from 10% to as high 30% off the normal rates. Some restrictions apply and can be found below.

Shipping to APO, FPO and PO Boxes: Shipments going to these types of addresses can only be shipped via USPS without a tracking number. Deliveries should take 5 to 10 days in the US or 10 to 15 days for overseas destinations. We have seen orders shipped via USPS take as long 20 to 30 days in the US and 30 to 45 days for overseas destinations. We recommend that you only use USPS this way if you must.

Shipping within United States: Shipments within the US are normally shipped via UPS Ground with a tracking number, except for Hawaii and Alaska. Hawaii and Alaska shipments are shipped via FedEx Air or Next Day Air. Discounts from UPS and FedEx can range from 10% to 30% off the normal shipping rates.

International Deliveries: Shipments outside the US can only be shipped via USPS Global Priority with a tracking number and FedEx. If shipment is made via USPS Global Priority it does not include any possible Duties or Taxes for International deliveries. If shipment is made via FedEx all Duties or Taxes are included in the shipping cost. Discounts from FedEx can range from 10% to 30% off the normal shipping rates.

From Order to Shipment: Most Orders received and payment approved before 3:00pm PST are shipped the same business day the orders are placed; unless the product is out of stock or backed ordered. Your order tracking number is normally available the next business day after the order has been shipped.

Shipping Charge
The freight for oversize package is calculated base on the dimensional weight. Freight for packages ship via any form of air freight (Next Day Air, Second Day Air, etc) may be subjected to the dimensional weight rule.

Handling Fees
This first line item on an order is charge a $3.00 handling fee and .50 for each line item. Please remember that International orders can be subject to import fees or other forms of taxation in non-US countries. Such fees are beyond our control and the responsibility of the customer. Freight quoted for a shipment going to an address outside of US does not include export taxes, duties, or any other fees imposed by the carriers or custom unless stated otherwise.

Orders will be handled in the following manner. There will be no PRE-ORDERING of games at this time since the Credit Card charge is done at the time the order is placed. We will be changing this in the near future. The only expection to this will be any Shirts, Baseball Caps, Jackets, Thermal Mugs and Coffee Mugs. These must be PRE-ORDERED.

Thank you for the information, but i have a quick query.

You say
Every order for Mega Campagin Desert Fox 1941 should now be filled. The current in stock version of Desert Fox contains v5.3 of SPWaW and the new Stereo Sounds. This will be the last copies of Mega Campaign Desert Fox we make. Once these are sold out they are gone for good. If your order still shows you processing please wait until Monday and double check. Does this also apply to overseas orders? I have never received a tracking number (I understood not available for overseas customers). Anyway I plan to enquire of the help desk (and yes I have registered) on Monday if it has not arrived yet.

Notes : I ordered via yr website on 13/04/01 and my credit card was billed that date.

Does this apply to the latest Mega-Campaign...Lost Victories? Is it a "Limited Edition" also??
I was going to wait until I finish the Desert Fox Campaign before I order the second, but should I not wait??

Now you've got me worried, David. I've still recieved no confimation that my order has been processed (ordered May 17). Last communication from matrix about the order was received on May 17. It is coming, right?? I have contacted the help desk about this & said no rush, but now there is a time crunch to get this resolved before the supply is gone.

OK Guys

I feel like I just yelled fire in a movie theater. The supplies for the Mega Campaign Desert Fox are fine at this time! Whar we are doing is letting gamers know that when the Desert Fox Mega Campaigns are out of stock we will not be making any new ones. The new store software tracks our inventory and updates the status of our stock live. So gamers looking at our products will know what is in good stock and what is in low stock.

For future products we will be stating when we think we are going to stop making new copies of a product. This is just one more way to serve you better.

If any one has already order there copy of Desert Fox Mega Campaign you are fine and your copy has already been sent.

WHy would you not try to sell as many MC's as possible. After spending all that time doing development, wouldn't you want to convert that work to $$$$ as much as possible? I know of people who are jumping on the SPWAW bandwagon all the time, and might want to buy MC1 next month, next year. Why deny them sending you money for that product??

Simple economics and the marginal cost/benefit of producing/selling that extra unit/CD.

Say you do a run produciing 5,000 CD's,

Initial orders etc take 3,000-4,500,

Do you advise people that there are only 500 left or do you continue taking orders - remembering that the minimum economic production run is say 1,000 units?

Because those initial 3,000-4,500 are the easy, quick orders any orders over 5,000 will take time to arrive. This leaves you with the choice of..
1) waiting until you have the extra 1,000 orders before commiting to another production run (real long wait for first people in and judging by coments as people wait for pre-ordered MCNA cd's... not something that is going to be popular with the punters), or

2) Order a production run and store the CD's until they are sold... so, how many of you have bought cheap "remainder" software at 10-20% of original price (storage costs...)

Anyway, this statement made me also a bit nervous.

@David
Don't want to bother you but can you already say something about producing & shipping MC from europe?
