No, Italy will surrender at 1943, all Italian units will be disbanded. You can remove transfer to Italy at 1943, then Italian units will remain on Map before surrender.

You can stop Italy from surrender, but you have to redesign Events to reflect this, it's difficult task with numerous caveats. Look at event 0024 and connected events.

Ok, I could disable the events, so what would happen by disabling the event ''Allies conquer Corsica'' for example?
Allies won't be able to capture Corsica during the game, right? Could there be problems during the campaign?

I would like these events to remain active but where I can, I would like to change the story... for example send more divisions to North Africa to delay the invasion of Italy. So is it possible to delay or not verify the event?

Disabling the event should work OK as long as you check all other associated events. You might need to check/change the withdrawal dates for each Italian unit in the editor.

If you describe what parts of the story you want to change I and others might be able to help you.

I would like Italy not to surrender in 43, Romania in 44 and/or any other Axis nation. Basically I'd like to try to change history by trying to resist for longer in the various theaters of war but always using the existing divisions. This is my idea. I interrupted the campaign in the previous war in the east game when the Italian troops were withdrawn automatically from the frontline. Well, I wouldn't want something like this to happen. I'd want to be free to decide whether to send Italian troops to the motherland to resist the Allied invasion and when do it.

In the editor click on the Main tab and then GAME EVENT EDITOR at the top right.

You will need to set the following events to INACTIVE (below the event desciption)

0011 - Finland Surrenders

0024 - Italy Surrenders

0093 - Slovakia Surrenders

0094 - Rumania Surrenders

0110 - Italian Campaign Concluded

You might also want to make inactive all the events pertaining to the Allies capturing Italian regions.

I recommend you read section 14.3 Surrender of Axis-Allied Nations in the manual.

Some of the surrender triggers are hardcoded.

On Turn 93 (28th March 1943) in the 1941 Campaign many Italian units return to Italy from the Eastern Front. You might to change that or leave it as is if you consider it too much work.

When playing your scenario you would then have to transfer them back to the map from the IT theatre box. Your call.

Attached is a quick and dirty version of what you are looking for.

I have disabled events pertaining to the surrender of Axis Allies and also those events capturing Italian regions.

I have not changed the withdrawal dates of any of the Italian units.

First off.. a big thank you. Later I'll look at what you changed in the events to understand how you did it. But now I have 5 questions:

1) Do I have to change the withdrawal date to have the troops up to the 1945 right? Or can I leave it as default and choose not to withdraw the troops during the game?
2) Do I also have to change the end of production dates of the vehicles (almost all in 1943) to continue producing them until 1945?
3) What happens with the Italian Social Republic? The event won't trigger will it?
4) Related to point 3, what happens to the Italian armament that would have been produced by the Germans (eg Semovente M43 75/46)? Will the Germans still be able to produce it?
5) Axis can still lose the african campaign, so that theatre box will be closed? And after it Italy will have the Allied invasion? Or by disabling the events these things won't happen?

moreover and despite having read the manual, I didn't quite understand 3 things in air production, namely ''maximum imports, build limit and expansion rate''. Can you explain it better? And I'll give you an example:

Macchi CB 202 Folgore --> Build limit = 11 / Expansion rate = 0 / Maximum imports = 561

1. As I wrote in an earlier post you can leave the date or change it. If you leave it all the Italian troops on the Map will return to the Italian Theatre Box. If you play with Enhanced TB option then you should be able to cancel the withdrawals. If not you will then have to transfer them back to the map. If you delete the withdrawal altogether in the editor they will stay on the map.

2. Yes. You will need to Lock Generic Data on the Main tab in the editor when making the changes.

3. No. Or at least as far as I know. There may be something hardcoded but I am not aware of it.

4. Yes they will still produce them. Having checked in the editor the Germans have different versions which will still be produced.

5. Axis can still lose the African campaign and if they do the NA TB will be closed. The Italian invasion will not occur as the event has been disabled. Defeat in the African campaign can also be disabled simply by rendering that event inactive.

By now I have almost understood everything... the only thing I still don't understand is this... If I send more divisions to the African theater, there will be a greater chance that the axis will not surrender in May 43 right? And so the invasion of Italy will be postponed... Or regardless of all the axis capitulates in May 1943? And so the events have fixed historical dates by default?
What I would like would be to be able to delay the end of a theatre, an invasion etc.

Instead I'm pretty sure that the ''maximum imports'' is the number of airplane historically produced for that aircraft model. Now what I don't understand and always taking the Macchi CB 202 for example... Its maximum imports is 561, so does it mean that I can produce 561 Macchi maximum in my campaign? And if this assumption is right, what happens after that?

11 is the maximum number that can be built per turn. Expansion rate is the maximum the factory will increase in size over a given scenario. This is driven by events as far as I am aware. In this example the factory will not increase in size.

Maximum Imports is a mystery to me. It is something to do with the ch/af numbers seen in the Production screen. It might be the total amount that can be built during a scenario from the constituent elements of an AFV or aircraft eg the airframe/chassis/machinge guns/crew etc) that make the finished article - in this case a CB 202 Folgore.

As far as I know sending extra forces to North Africa will only delay the inevitable. North Africa will surrender at some point unless the event is disabled. Looking at the N Africa surrender event in the editor it does seem to fire on 13th May 1943 no matter what. "Axis success in" events sould delay the surrender events but if they do I am not sure how.

If you want to delay the end of a theatre then simply change the date the event fires in the editor. So the default is North Africa Axis surrenders on 13th May 1943. That can be changed to any date within the scope of the scenario. The same applies for any event but you will need to make the same changes to any event that fires as a result of that first event.

I suppose what happens in your example as far maximum imports is that aircraft will no longer be produced. The maximum imports number can be changed if you lock Generic Data.

This game is crying out for an indepth Editor manual.

Who could here give us an answer?

Is the game probably flexible on events?
''..The events related to shortages or excess of forces in a theatre affect the later events. Each air or naval gain or loss will move the timeline by 1 day (in the appropriate direction), each land gain or loss will move the timeline by between 4 and 7 days...''

It would appear that with more divisions being sent to North Africa, that theater could remain open even after 13 May. Maybe it's possible to do a test with edit scenario/savegame? (link --> https://mesmeric.games/war-in-the-east- ... e-editing/ )

Surely a more detailed editor manual would be needed, there are too many things that are not explained or explained not very well.

Some of the terminology and wording of things in the game and editor can be confusing. When editing or creating a scenario trial and error seems to be the only way at the moment in lieu of a proper editor manual.
