bug: Construction ships going inactive despite available build tasks

I find that I regularly have to check on my construction ships, as they will often go (no mission) after completing a task despite their being plenty of other build tasks queued. They are all set to fully automate. I have to manually tell them to move a bit away from whatever they last built, reset them to fully automate and then they will pick up a build task from the queue.

I have seen that also. Eventually, they're assigned a task, it just takes some time. At least, that's what I've seen in my games.

Just speculating here, but I suspect that what's going on is that there are so many things happening in the game that it takes time for the internal "updating" to get to assigning new tasks to construction ships. But when you manually re-automate them, that has a higher priority in the internal messaging queue, so they're assigned a new task faster.

I suggest trying to wait longer, to see if they'll eventually be assigned a new task. In my case, they always do.
