Transfer Ambassador to own colony?

Transfer Ambassador to own colony?

I have an ambassador with a Colony Corruption Reduction Trait but there is no option to transfer him to a different colony in my own empire - only to other empires/pirates/independents.

Should we not be able to transfer ambassadors to colonies in our own empire to be able to take advantage of those types of traits?
