AI manual upgrades

The research AI script can be modded, such as adjusting the percentage probability of researching a given tech, but what script(s) handle AI manual upgrade of units? What criteria does the AI use to apply manual upgrades? Will it prefer the top tier first, then the second and finally the third of research manual upgrades? Is this hard coded or can this be modded?

As an aside I've noticed that minors often don't get upgraded by their parent, most crucially for Commonwealth allies, such as Canadian destroyers and South African infantry.

Currently the AI looks for upgradeable slots, e.g. from 1, 2, or 3 and randomly picks one of the slots that is available for an upgrade and upgrades that slot.

Off the fop of my head there is the possibility that minors are 'flagged' to not be upgradeable. In the default campaigns these should be set to upgradeable, but in case this is for a custom campaign, that might be one thing to double check.

I looked into it a bit further and it looks like there is an issue with Minors not properly upgrading, consider it fixed for the next update.

No scripts for that particular issue, just an internal coding problem that needed to be adjusted
