Improved boarding

Post by CHINCHIN »

Would it be possible, for a future patch, that units starting a turn adjacent to a port, through a key and mouse combination, could directly shipment and move that same turn?

May be limited to one unit on ports 1-5, and two units on ports 6-10. Thus we avoid having to move the garrison of the port, and we increase the shipping capacity of the ports.

I remember asking the same but only boarding outside a port not boarding and moving in the same turn. The garrison in port is indeed obliged to leave its entrenchement level to allow another unit to board.

But, that is maybe complicated in the current code.

You can load a unit in a port and move it today or you can move and load a ton of units into a ship them move it next turn. Seems pretty fair.

Yes, I know that you can embark many units to move them the next turn, or embark and move the one that is in the port. But for this you have to move the garrison unit from the port, it loses its entrenchment, you can suffer an invasion when you have a weak unit to embark... In summary it is uncomfortable and dangerous. If it could be fixed in the way I indicated, it would be interesting. Another thing is that it is considered a small profit for a big job, and it is not worth it.
