cp oiling

Post by jjdenver »

We have a situation using 4.2.3.2 where some cp's can't be oiled. Specifically they are in Adelaide and have a chain of cp's CW + FF running to Mexico Coast then by rail through Mexico/USA to Canada oil. The oil screen doesn't show them as units that are available to oil (reorg).

Is this a rules problem? A bug? Something else?

Is the US active or neutral? If it is neutral, this is correct. You have to be able to trace a supply line of infinite length, and you can't trace supply through neutral countries (except for special rules for Germany through Sweden). You can transport resources and build points through neutral minor countries and neutral major powers on your side, but you can't trace supply. (Mexico is irrelevant. San Diego touches the Mexican Coast.)
I thought I knew how to play this game....

Yoi dont need to go to Mexico and USA to get your oil. Unless the enemy is blocking the routes you can access you oil anywhere in the map, whether you have convs in a line till there or not.

So if the Japanese havent blocked all the southern seas leading to Europe around Africa and South America, you should be able to refuel.

Unfortunately there are some of this bugs at times.

RAW:

SiF option 11: (limited overseas supply) You can only trace a
supply path overseas if each sea area you trace it through contains a
friendly convoy, TRS or AMPH.

I believe they are playing with this optional rule. No bug.
