Can you transfer units from map to places like North Africa

Post by Gregg »

I've had this game for about a year, but only started a few months ago by first reading that book called a user's manual and playing the shorter introduction scenarios. I started my first full campaign game as the Axis about two months ago. I'm now on turn 102 and have mostly cleared the map, and have taken all the cities, with a score of 1016 at this time (I'm retired so I have plenty of free time to play).
My question is: I had access units on the main map a good 40 turns ago, and it would have been nice to be able to send access units to places like North Africa.
Can this be done in this game as it now is? I've looked, but I can fine no way for a player to transfer units to a specific theater box.

I think you have to send them to the Reserve TB first.

Be on a friendly rail hex, at least 8 hexes away from any enemy unit, open the unit detail view and you should see the button to transfer unit into a TB on the upper right.

Aircraft groups or the whole AOG must be sent to the reserve first.

OK, but how do you send the unit(s) to Reserves?
I looked on the units, but find no option to transfer units to the reserves.

Thank you for the lead.
But all I found was how to send depleted units to reserves and/or swap depleted units for reserve units.
I need to know how to send perfectly good units to either Italy or Western Europe, now on turn 107.
I have a bunch of air units on the map in Russia that are doing nothing much useful, except delivering tonnage to remote airfields.
I would like to transfer most of these units to where they can be doing some good.

this doesn't work for you? It's not written in the Manual, at least I did not find it.

The Manual just states about the "automatic replacement/AOG" thing.
Living Manual 1.18 wrote:In addition you can use the AOG on-map label (37.16.4). In this case, right click on AOG label and select “Send/Rotate Depleted Air Groups”.

Thank you for the help.
I was able to use methods 1 and 2 as you showed to transfer units to the reserves.
