Confused by ABM defense

I am playing To Kill the Queen (USN vs PLAN) and hey are shooting at me with ASBMs, which I kind of expected and I have SAMs for. But the SAM behavior is pretty wonky, with SM6s firing off in all kinds of directions and leakers getting through and killing ships.

Here are a couple of screenshots.
I had radars live and all the SM6s that are chasing RVs were launched by the group well before they got close. The SM6s failed to go to the correct point and turn their radar seekers on, leading to the tail chase.


The Churchill launched its own SM6s to try to defend itself. Those SM6s decided fly out on a course that 90 degrees from where they needed to be heading. End result is scratch the Churchill.

Anyone else seen this type of behavior? I am on v1.04 build 1147.52.

A lot of changes have been made to ABM engagements up through build 1300 in beta. It seems to be much more straightforward.
