Observations

Post by JagdFlanker »

just got the game a week ago and diving in hard - long way to go to get a grip but loving it so far!

figure if i spot minor things i'l throw it in this thread

first off, in the air doctrine screen i am surprised you can't choose default target priorities for Recon missions since all my German 1st turn Recon missions are unit/interdict and it would be nice if i could have that as my default

also i'v been starting quite a few new games and it might be nice if whatever air doctrine default templates you have when you end turn1 are saved permanently for whenever you start a new game - since turn1 the player is pretty much following a script i would assume the air doctrine default preferences are quite likely to always be the same for any player on either side. or just being able to manually save and load different air doctrine defaults might be handy

i'v noticed when reading/watching Germany AARs there's lots of mention of 'oh, i forgot to turn off air support for that battle' - the toggle switch is convenient but when you are doing so many attacks first turn you are bound to forget to use the toggle here and there

some players might find it handy if there was an option to get a pop-up screen before every battle that asks you if you want to add air support or not to that battle, as well as showing what that air support would be. the default answer could be set according to what the 'turn ground support on/off' toggle is currently set to

this would make it easier to manage what your aircraft are doing on a battle by battle basis, and most importantly give you an idea of what the fighter escort would be so you can better decide the risks

thanks!

You can try to edit the Scenario you are playing.
I have no access to my PC atm. so I can only give instruction from remembrance (if thats even an english word).

1.Main Menu > Editor
2. choose tbe scenario
3. change name of your scenario on the top left (renaming creates new scenario IIRC)
4. bottom "go to map"
5. edit your doctrines (you can switch between GE/SU by pressing W)
6. klick the top left "X (the leave game cross)"
7. click save scenario on the bottom in the opening editor screen (make sure it is overwriting "yourscenarioname")

no guarantee this works, since I can't try it atm. :ugeek:

Or you just simply start a game, set up your doctrines and so on and save that one as your new starting game.

Christmas dinner blocked my braincells for that easy solution.
