Air to Air combat results

Post by Rock64 »

Playing my first game as Russian versus the Axis AI and the VVS is getting slaughtered in Air to Air combat.
It's fall of 43 and I'm still seeing kill ratios of 30, 40, even 50 to 1 in fighter versus fighter Air to Air. I have the AI set to 110 so figured it is was it is. Then I noticed 12 Ju88c night fighters set to daylight missions shoot down 22 VVS fighters for the loss of 1. Really?

Check the experience of your fighters, how close they are to the frontline, the actual planes they are using and the overall number of planes present.

To get anything close to a decent kill ratio you need well-trained pilots, 60 exp or better, as close as possible to the frontline, especially during winter, and equipped with the best planes you have. You also want to outnumber the Germans by about 4 to 1.

During 1943 the Germans can really choose to still have extremely strong air presence but only in a very small area. If they concentrate an entire JG of 200 fighters in an area don't expect to be able to contest the air until you REALLY wear that JG down before your planes can do something. Vs the AI set to 110 this is much more extreme
