Things are going quite well, apart from supply nuisances in China. But those are unavoidable before Burma Road is opened.

Port Moresby is safe now, all damage is repaired and base is building up nicely. It also has 90k+ supplies and 2 TFs of PT boats as "plywood shield" vs. Bombardment TFs aka "Tokyo Express". AGPs and fuel are on the way plus some more planes when AF size gets bigger.

In Solomons, Operation Cartwheel against Lunga (Guadalcanal) and Tulagi will commence when CV TFs are relieved from supporting Port Moresby. They have been very successful (even though Hornet still sports SBC-4 dive bombers...)

In North Pacific, Adak I. is opening for submarines when assorted Support vessels (AS, AR, ARD etc.) are available. And of course when tere are fighters, search planes and medium bombers defending the base.

Wow! That was one great decision to throw your CVs into the defence of PM! You netted some carriers and CLs/DDs, but the loss of troops and troop carrying ships was probably the most crucial loss for the AI.
I was very surprised that the 3 IJN CVs that raided Canton Is. did not immediately go back to Truk to replenish and then square off against your CVs. Maybe the AI counted and saw that you had more than it could muster so it decided not to risk it.
Anyway it shows that a good Allied strategy is to stick a pin in the map and use it to grind away at the IJN until the Allies can muster the strength to drive them completely away. Well done!

I was bit surprised how, within a week, those CVs (used Lexington, Saratoga, Yorktown, Hornet and Wasp in 2 TFs, Enterprise still on drydock and Illustrious had not yet arrived) managed to turn the tide of air war over Port Moresby peninsula.

I was first bit sceptic about ability of CV CAP to stop attacks on PM, but apparently at range of 1 it worked just fine (cannot keep them in base hex or CAP will get halved, for those who don't know that). PM repaired quite quickly without continuous naval and air bombardment.

For those that has skipped that part of manual:

7.2.1.13.2 AIRCRAFT CARRIERS IN BASE HEXES

Air operations by aircraft carriers are limited if the aircraft carrier is in a base hex. Aircraft
launching search, CAP or strike Missions from a carrier in a base hex will only launch 50%
of the normal amount they would have launched. If the CAP is reinforced by fighters on the
ship due to the raid being spotted in time, only 50% of the fighters on the ship will reinforce
the CAP.

Seems that CV Junyo is now on sunk list and BB Yamato is off. That was expected, since Yamato was struck by couple of Mk 10s and Junyo by something like 9 1000lb bombs.
