transport load problem

Post by Jaus1 »

I have a couple of units I'm trying to load on AK's under transport orders that are greyed out. The reason is given as 'unit not in strategic mode' , but the unit is in 'Strat' mode with 0 packing days and it is attached to an unrestricted command.

What else do I need to look for?

The unit may not be complete. If there is a piece of it somewhere else, it probably would not load in strat mode.
Or maybe you have not docked the Transport TF?

Because they have personnel components that cannot be loaded into AKs but need APs?

Screenshot would likely clarify the issue easier.

Could be a number of things.

Could be as simple as the "Marine Two-step" but more information is needed.

I went back to get screenshots only to find that my AK's had moved away during the last turn resolution because I forgot to set the home port to San Francisco where the loading was to occur. I moved them back and now the problem is gone which makes it even harder to understand. If it happens again I'll get screenshots.

If an unrestricted unit is in strat mode with no packing time, but it still remains greyed-out in the TF load screen with "not in strategic mode" displayed, check the move orders - the unit probably has orders to strat-move out of the hex, which renders it ineligible for loading aboard ships.
