Post by Klondike »

Can anyone tell me where I can get an updated version of the Manual??

And Whats the point of having C-47's ?? I dont see them based anywhere,I have over 1500 in inventory right now and two factories are making them at 40+ planes a week...I know Capt. Harlock will have the answer for this [:)]

As far as I know, the manual proper has never been updated. There is an additional "pdf" file in the Version 3.0 download, detailing a number of changes made since the original game. In versions 3.1 and 3.2, there are also ".doc" files, although they are actually in Rich Text Format, explaining further changes.

One of the changes was to eliminate all transport aircraft. (Since Pacific War is a DOS-based game, there is a hard limit on the number of different models of aircraft, and it was decided to free up the slots for additional fighters and bombers.) However, there was considerable protest, and the flying of supplies "over the hump" to China when the Burma Road had been closed was a fairly important part of the struggle in China. So, the Japanese are still out, but the venerable C-47 transport has been brought back. Unfortunately, no squadrons that can fly the C-47 are available until 1943.

They can come in handy when "island-hopping". A base is usually isolated for the first turn after it is captured, and sometimes for considerably longer, depending on enemy air presence. The C-47's can fly in supplies and fuel, but not in large quantities. (Maybe enough to keep a battalion supplied if it isn't involved in heavy combat.)
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
