"Tiny" Beta Flightplan Editor

Post by captainwolf »

I am trying to use the flightplan editor to set up a strike, and I have a few questions:
1. Does changing what the "Task" is do anything, or is it just a way to remind yourself what the purpose of the flight-plan is?
2. What is the difference between "Target" and "Weapon Target" Waypoints?
3. Does the "Targeteering & Weaponeering" Button work, and if so how do I use it?

Hi captainwolf
1 I don't think I'm understanding your question. The Task has no type, is just a logical group of units. If you are speaking about the Package then yes, the package type determines the type of flight(s) that will be created (Ferry, Strike, Support ecc...)

2 "Target" indicates a Waypoint created for aircrafts that use bombs, for example, a Bison bomber. This type of waypoint indicates that the aircraft has to reach the Target in order to launch the weapons.
"Weapon Target" is a waypoint used when creating a flightplan for an aircraft with standoff weapons for example an F-15 armed with JASSM. It indicates the location of impact of the weapon and it may very well not be a location on which the firing unit will ever transit

3 that button is disabled ATM, no way for a user to use it

feel free to reply with any doubts or questions.

Thanks
