Shall we share experiences on 5.00.00.10 (except for AI)?

I have been using that new patch for a couple of sessions, and I found already several glitches (I have not tried the AI features because I believe they are in Alpha and dont have so much interest):

- One CV carrying 2 CVPs (which fitted inside) was offered to rebase at turn's end but although the CV rtb'd, the CVPs hanged on 4 Box so I was supposed to lose 6 BP and many months in the game in what was related to them. But what was even worse, we could not go on, a game-stopping bug.

- One TRS was carrying two Arts and at RTB I sent it to a port, then cancelled and repeated, and finally sent the ship to Gibraltar. Both Arts went there too, but a duplicate of one of them was also floating on the Bay of Biscay, and we even got an error message when loading but it did not dissapear.

- I clicked on a CV to make it stay at sea and then cancelled the order, but although the CV recovered the green dot, it stayed one box lower (it means it had one extra move to rtb).

- One JA HQ was disorganized and isolated in China but after EoT it appeared only isolated. We were using the optional that doesnt allow that.

We were lucky to be able to edit some of these, but others made us go back several phases.

I cannot remember more at the moment, there may have been more. I thought it would be good if everyone posted their experiences, maybe you had these ones or you will know of others you make the rest aware of, in advance.

Don't believe that I have had any new issues... certainly no game breakers. Definitely better than the 4.xxx versions.

There are bugs regarding movement when one presses the undo button. That's not new. The problem with those bugs is, that those bugs are almost always not present after investigating a saved game from the point before that problem occurs. And if you can't recreate a bug, how can one expect the programmer to fix that bug.

I would like to see a saved game of the Japanese Isolated HQ before it gets reorganized. That's a new one.

Well, I had seen issues with planes or ships that get disorganized or OOS after you do an UNDO, or suffered that once you make an undo with a land unit and move it elsewhere, the game keeps on undoing the move (and sometimes some seconds afterwards and without warning you, which is even worse), but I had never seen 2 CVPs unloaded from a CV at 4 box into the sea or an ART floating in the sea with no TRS anymore.

Something new has happened to the load of ships when they RTB (TRSs and CVs). At least I hadnt seen that before.

About the CH HQ, after checking again, most probably while checking the optionals I (or my opponent) unmarked the ON of Isolated Reorg Limits. Not a bug.

This is a mistake of me/ours. However, the game (in this and other features) should be friendlier so you can not easily mistake turning optionals on/off by mistake (right click), when trying to check the explanation of the optional itself (left click). A pop-up message like "Turn optional on/off?" would save many problems.

For me, so far so good except for a fatal (game stopping) bug with Vichy creation. However; this fatal bug was present in all versions going back to 3.x, so isn't by my experience a regression bug or specific to 5.00.00.10. Ias able to get through that bug and continue my game by editing the game file. I'd estimate that I've completed ~10 Global War scenarios through to the bitter end (all 36 turns) with version ranging from 1.x to 3.x. I'm currently at the start of the JF41 turn with 5.00.00.10 and things seem pretty good except the Vichy bug. Honestly, I can't recall any game that I've played through to the bitter end that I haven't had to find a way to work around 1 or 2 potentially game stopping bugs.

MWIF is a fantastic game and well worth the price. However; having the ability to edit the game file to either: (1) get around the rare game stopping bug, (2) or fix some convoy or production "feature" (e.g., all CPs in a given sea area decide to RTB on their own) is a nicety; especially if you don't want to pull your hair out in frustration.

Also, I like having the additional code optional rules that 5.00.00.10 offers. So far, supply calculation times seem to be as fast as they are in 3.x.
