Unit Advancements

Post by Dgold »

How do unit advancements work?

I have an Axis armoured unit with 1941 Heavy Armour advancement.
My tech has increased to 1942 Heavy Armour.
I am not allowed to change my armoured unit advancement to 1942 Heavy Armour.
Is this because the unit will now automatically upgrade to 1942 Heavy Armour, spending PPs, over time?

Another case is where an Axis armoured unit has 1941 Breakthrough advancement.
My tech has permits 1942 Heavy Armour.
I am allowed to change this unit's advancement to 1942 Heavy Armour, but when I do so, the new advancement shows 1941 Heavy Armour. Is this correct?
Over time will this unit automatically upgrade to 1942 Heavy Armour, spending PPs?

Thanks

Hi,

Indeed the answer is yes to both your questions. PPs will be spend on reinforcements and advancements according to the priorities in the manual and the setting you add. But it will never spend more than allowed by you.

You can also select if you want upgrade only or upgrade and repair inside each unit. It may help if you don't have a lot of PP to invest in both.

Just wondering if you allocated any PP's to Reinforce/Upgrade, the middle box at the top of the Production screen.
