Ship Cargo Transfer not working correctly

Post by User1984 »

In the attached scenario which I have created in order to test cargo functionality in the game; the ship cargo transfer does not seem to be working correctly.

One of the missions I created in this scenario is called "Cindemir Port to Hayardasa Port". In this mission I want all cargo from the Cindemir Naval Base to be transferred to the Hayardasa Naval Base. I have one feeder ship selected for this misson.

The feeder ship (Commercial Container Vessel - Panamax) will leave Cindemir empty and then sail around for a while and then return to Cindemir where it will finally load some cargo. It will then sail to Hayardasa Naval Base and unload its cargo. However, it will then reload the same cargo that it just unloaded and then sail around for a while and then return to Hayardasa and unload again. It seems to be stuck in an endless loop.

The intended behavior that I want the ship to perform, is to transfer cargo from Cindemir to Hayardasa, then return to Cindemir empty, load more cargo at Cindemir and return to Hayardasa where it unloads its cargo. This process should be completed until all cargo at Cindemir is transferred to Hayardasa.

The mission seems to become 'inactive' after ships leave port. Try clearing the active time or add an end time so it doesn't become inactive.

Has the issue I posted about above been fixed in the recent patch?

What does the following patch note mean exactly? Please provide an example.

"ADDED: Cargo Delivery mission now supports vehicle self-transport"

Speaking specifically about the patch note:

Cargo delivery mission is a specific type of cargo mission that delivers cargo to a zone on the map, rather than into cargo at a specific destination unit.

Vehicle self-transfer is having ground vehicles exit cargo and drive themselves to the cargo mission destination. Previously only the cargo transfer mission supported vehicle self-transport. It is now available for both types of cargo missions.

To use vehicle self-transfer:

1) The ground units to self-transfer must begin the mission in cargo at a mission cargo source.
2) They must be assigned to the mission.
3) They must be included as cargo to move in the mission cargo list for their source (or the mission can use the 'move all cargo' option.)
4) You must check the 'vehicles in cargo my self-transfer' option in the mission editor.

Hi user1984 -- the issue here was that the cargo transfer mission destination unit was a group, which the code was not handling correctly when deciding if the ship was at the destination or the source host/port. This will be fixed in the next update.
