See this forum thread (and there is a newer beta out, also mentioned in the same thread).

I can see where there might be confusion. I am using 2.1.1.6967 Beta, but the opening splash screen says 2.1.1.6839, the Welcome Commander screen shows 2.1.1.6938 and the in game help-about shows 2.1.1.6839

I'll pass this on to Rob to get those all in the correct number. Thanks for posting about it.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Don't worry too much about the exact version # in this case. These are all effectively the same version. The last number is taken from the most recent Subversion commit number so that there is an implicit cross-reference built in, but not all Subversion commits are code features or fixes. There are docs, last-second scenario refreshes, missing files added, etc. and each commit bumps the last number up by one. At some point, we have to put a number into the What's New file, but the very act of committing that file to Subversion changes the number again. Ignore any difference of say, five, in the last part of the version number.

For the record, the original release of FPRS 2.0.0 back in October 2013 was version 1076. By the time of 2.0.14 it was up to 2709. The initial release of FCSS 2.1.0 in November 2022 was 6759, the release of 27 Nov was 6796, then 6819 on Dec 7, 6839 on Jan 31, 2023, and finally "6968" on 8 Feb. You can see that these numbers are quite well separated, so if you apply the 'rule of five' you will know which you have. Right now, our internal build # is at 7009 and is rising by 1 or 2 per day.

That said, I'll try harder to make sure they all synchronize nicely for the next release!

Cheers, Rob C
